Vacation
If expense was no issue, where would you like to go on vacation, and where would you like to sight see? Or, where was your best vacation, and why?
I know my friend just returned from her dream vacation, a month in the Hawaiian Islands. She shared some wonderful photo's of the Arizona Monument, pineapple farm, black beaches, Dukes, and the rain forest.

Re: Vacation
I couldn't list all the places I want to go the list would be my longest post ever. It isn't even always money that has kept me from some of these places. It a shame the worlds people can't just get along. It would be great to travel the world and discover all its beauty and culture. When I travel I like to get to know the locals and some of their local customs and events. I just think it adds to the vacation much more that just getting the tourist treatment.
I have mentioned before that Cozumel is my favorite place to go on vacation. It has all I could want, warm weather and breathtakingly blue water, SCUBA diving at your doorstep, the nicest group of people I ever came across as well as some friends we have made there through the years. The restaurants are great and inexpensive to boot (Everything being relative some might not find them that inexpensive.)It would be easy to fall into their laied back lifestyle. I'm sure many of you would understand what I mean. It is a joke that when we ask what time we should be at the dive boat or anything else they give us a time and we always have to wonder do they mean in Cozumel time? Which could mean that you will actually leave anytime from the time the clock says the time they gave to 45 minutes later. But never get there late because they will leave your ass at the dock if they are ready and you are a no show.lol
It seems no matter when I go there they are celebrating something. I actually asked our friends if they made up holidays and parades just for us tourists. They claim they are real holidays and celebrations. If you are into fishing, swimming, snorkeling, wildlife, obviously SCUBA or just sitting on the beach and sticking a flag in the sand if you want someone to bring you a drink or food, this is a place you want to go.

Re: Vacation
You can find many great places to go in this country that are close to where you live. But never say never on a dream either. You should try to treat yourself to sometype of REAL VACATION. You can even go to all the places someone might go if they were visiting your area. Most of usnever do what tourists do if they visit our area of the country. I bet most places have museums, galleries, zoo's, great restaurants etc..

Apparently you didn't get stuck inside the tunnel for three hours because of some accident or someone just being stupid. Yeah it's just loads of fun breathing those fumes. They don't even allow the guys that work inside them to stay in that long. Rush hour and the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels No thank you.
Funny you can always tell the New Yorkers from the tourists when they say things like "I enjoyed the tunnels" Or my favorite is when I was going to work one day by way of the Staten Island ferry and some guy was going through a guide book and telling his little boy "And that's Ellis Island where all the immigrants had to go to come to this country" as he was pointing to The Statue of Liberty! I wanted to yell" No you dumb ass that's The Statue of Liberty maybe she looks familiar to you from a school book, and just for future reference all immigrants did not come through Ellis Island either." But he and his kid were to excited so I settled for whispering to the father that, that was The Statue of liberty and left it at that. I would have really confused him if I told him that the original name of the Island had changed but either way it was never Ellis Island. lol

It was a weekend and traffic was ok. Never had to wait in a tunnel, nor much of anywhere else. It's just fun drving thru places I cann't take the truck. PLus, a person could spend a lifetime exploring NYC and never see the same thing twice. So many cool things there. :D

Re: Vacation
There are some things you really don't want to see twice. As a matter of fact you might see things you are sorry you saw the first time. But there are a lot of things to see and do in NY.I'll let the mayors office know they have a fan.

Re: Vacation
I have a friend and his time was spent at the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Tennessee.
I had a girlfriend who wanted to visit Ireland. There is Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. I think of the stunning landscapes and ancient monastic ruins, or Cork and Blarney Castle.

Re: Vacation
Everyone should see the cysteine church at least once. I remember when i first saw Omaha Beach, where the D- Day invasion took place, i could easily imagine how we lost so many brave men there, that would have been a incredibly hard landing even in calm seas, i am haunted by the memory of that beach
