Your Ghost Stories
Another one of my favorite to read, Halloween annual topics.
Tell your ghost story!
We've had some really great ones over the years.
Mine is not really a ghost story, more of a science thing really. Last year I experienced sleep paralysis.
I woke up while still dreaming, my eyes were open but I was still in the physically paralyzed state of sleep.
I'm telling you, terrifying! I "woke up"...my eyes were open and I could see a man sitting on the foot of my bed watching my TV and could hear another person moving about the room. It seems so real, I was in total fear, all I could do is lay there paralyzed, freaking out about how these people got through my bedroom door that was locked from the inside. I didn't think ghosts, I was in complete terror thinking that there were two people in my room.
Even though after the fact I understood that it was an episode of sleep paralysis, I was still rattled for several days. Sleep paralysis is pretty normal but geez... it is the freakiest damn thing!

Re: Your Ghost Stories
I had my bed lift in the air, and shake violently. Pretty scarey.

Re: Your Ghost Stories
When I was a kid we had just moved to a big beautiful old English tutor house. I never believed in ghosts. I hadn't heard any stories about our new house. We all loved the house.
Everyone went to bed but I couldn't sleep.I guess I was excited about the new house. My bedroom door was open. My mom always wanted our doors open until we were older. I look into the hallway and saw a older man in a suite and bowler kind of hat just casually walking up and down the hall out side our bedrooms.I remember being so scared I couldn't move. I had seen that same thing many times over the years.I told my mother about it but no one else. One day a while after we had moved in I was with a bunch of kids from the neighborhood. They told me that they had heard that an older man had died in the house many years ago and asked if I knew if it were true.I never did find out.(Not that I ever tried)To this day it scares me to think about it. But it definitely made me believe. I didn't talk to much about it because I know when I heard people talk about ghosts or UFOs most people think you're a bit unstable. Even though I tend to believe now I can't say I don't second guess people when they talk about seeing things.

Re: Your Ghost Stories
Two years ago I was in Galveston, TX and was staying in an old hotel that is known for being haunted. I was in my room working and my brief case fell off one of the beds. I picked it up and placed it back on the bed. Then a binder fell off the bed. I left it on the floor, then the brief case fell again...I moved all the things off the bed and put them on the floor.
I had to get ready for a dinner and I checked under the bed, in the closets, behind the curtains, etc. before I got in the shower. After the shower I walked into the bedroom and the pillows were on the floor. I left the pillows on the floor. I got ready for my dinner and went down to the front desk. I told them what had happened and no one seemed shocked. They asked if I wanted to change rooms but they could not promise it won't happen again. They said if I wasn't scared that was good. The bellman told me if I tell it to leave me alone it probably would.
I went to dinner and told one of my table compainions about what happened and she told me the spirit was being playful and just wanted to engage me...I went on up to my room and the pillows were at the end of the bed. I said, "You want to have a pillow fight?" So, I threw the pillows around the room a little and then I settled into the other bed and began to read. The room became freezing cold. I told the spirit to settle in and I would read to it.
I read for about an hour and fell asleep with the book on my chest. I felt the room warm up and the book was placed on the table next to the bed. My covers were pulled up and I felt this incredible warmth next to my cheek as if someone kissed my face. It was a motherly and sweet feeling, I was not ever afraid, it felt odd but somewhat comforting.
The next night there was no playfulness but I read out loud again, turned off my light and snuggled into bed. I said Goodnight and a few minutes later felt the same warmth and felt like someone was stroking my hair. It was comforting. I realized this was probably a Mom who just needed to love someone.
I have always been open to the afterlife and think because I don't limit my beliefs they come to me easily because most of them don't scare me...I have had bone chilling experiences but remove myself from the situation. Just like in life there are toxic spirits...

Re: Your Ghost Stories
i know this may sound pretty corny...but a long time ago, i was working at the local Hardee's, as the early morning biscuit baker. there were only three people in the place, as the store was not quite open yet. Kim (the cashier, was way out on the other side of the lobby, getting the dining room ready for customers. Mark, the store manager, was in the office, on the phone, with the door shut. i was way in the back prep area, getting things ready to set up the kitchen. suddenly, a pen came flying at me from out of no where. Kim was to far away to have thrown it that far. (and i could see her from where i was at.) Mark would have had to open the office door to throw it at me, and i would have heard the door open, because it squeaked at the slightest movement. rumor has it that the restaurant was built on the lot of an old abandoned house that was haunted back in the 1800's. the people that had lived there were supposed to have been a murdered pen salesman and his wife...coincidence?

Re: Your Ghost Stories
my first was a shadow walking across the Attic in my grand pas place , i was about 5 or so , a guy in a trench coat and hat pacing across the window, i went and got my uncle and we went in and no one there...lol
them we , the gang were camping off of grass lake and we were fishing and the swamp gas chased us back to camp and we didn't wait to stop at blarney's island.
then our house we had lived in for 20 years , the wife seen green glowing eyes in the basement and i started hearing some walking around at night a few times.
last year a old house we rented we wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning to the smell of coffee and food being made , she smelled maple syrup and and i smell a breakfast casserole and no one was cooking and there was never no food on the table..
and our new place is OK so far lol , but it another old house from the 1900's
