Scariest Place
Ya'all know I do so love Halloween, I post two topics every year and here's the first one.
If you could spend Halloween night anywhere, where would you spend it?
Previous years I've said places like Gettysburg and Zombie Road...haven't made up my mind this year.

Re: Scariest Place
ITs at the very least creepy. The scariest place on earth. At least on one poll:
Aokigahara Suicide Forest (near Mount Fuji, Japan)
At the northwest base of Mount Fuji is an 8,600-acre forest so dense it's peculiarly silent. Wind can barely sway the trees. And wildlife is scarce here. The dark forest, linked with demons in Japanese mythology, is best known for its suicides. More than 500 people have taken their lives here since the 1950s. Every year bodies, bones, makeshift nooses, and flowers left by grieving friends and family are found on the forest floor.
Even with a GPS or compass it's easy to get lost. Fujikawaguchiko Town leads nature hikes through Aokigahara to a large lava cave where bats hibernate in winter. En route, watch for the plastic tape used by local volunteers to mark search patterns during the forest's annual search for bodies.

Re: Scariest Place
I've heard a lot about that forest, there was a segment on it in a recent History Channel's "Ancient Aliens" episode about evil places along with the story of the Mt. Otorten hikers of 1959. Good show, the theories are a stretch, but they do go to some very cool ancient, exotic and wonderful places.

Any IRS office...with an audit scheduled on November 1st!!
They also find bones, nooses and body parts scattered around those places. But you can't leave flowers or anything for lost loved ones unless you fill out the appropriate forms and submit them in triplicate prior to the depositing of said flowers and or rememberances.

I do paranormal investigations...and I am into "new agey" type things. I can't say I have a favorite place I would want to go, that Japanese forest sounds interesting. Anyplace the activity is lively, lol

Re: Scariest Place
South's Most Haunted Town, Monticello.
Monticello is a beautiful small town in Northwest Florida with loads of southern charm by day... and ghost spirits at night. From the hanging tree in the middle of the square
to the 1872 John Denham House Bed and Breakfast, where you're in bed with a ghost.
If you'd like to tour the city, a visit will include the Palmer House to learn the chilling history of the town's Doctor Palmer (who had an assistant named Poltergeist and invested Cough Syrup Formula 666), a stop at the old blacksmith shop, Wirick-Simmons House (where the resident ghost often shows herself during tours) and the Scott-Simmons House, which was used as a hospital during the Civil War (and was also the site of an Indian massacre).
Yes, I've been there.
