Quiet time
Doe's anyone else have that special personal, private time of day where they just get to be alone, quitely relax, with no demands on them? Mine is early in the morming, 2:30 or 3 a.m., for 2-3 hour's, (turn in 6-7p.m.) dogs and cats still sleeping, just listning to my talk radio, drinking coffee, and catching up, well, like here. I find it theraputic. Clear my mind, loosely planning and thinking on the day ahead. Actually more difficult to plan a day for me, as I'm early retired, and trust me, it's not all it's cracked up to be. You're turn.

Re: Quiet time
What are you talking about, I love retirement. Every night is Friday night, and no getting up calling in sick for work, knowing you really aren't.
I really don't think, I just jump in and do what has to be done for the day. Time for coffee and the morning news..

Re: Quiet time
By the same token Goody, no holidy's, or day's off to look forward to. Sometimes, to much time on your hands, nothing to do, other times, too much to do. For me, (and I really miss it), going to work, being productive, is my nature. I never planned on retiring, ever. Just the situation. On the flip side of that, I get to enjoy my nudity more, but thats where it stops. And if you only knew how busy I can be, resposibillities, basically in any 24hr period, I'd love to just have a job, come home and stop. Then I could get some rest. Kinda sounds contradictory huh? (and stop trying to use big words perve, you know you can't handle it, you mental midget)

Re: Quiet time
Seems I'm alwasy too busy. Work use to be relaxing, but not with all the traffic now. Time of day doesn';t seem to matter. It's always busy.
At home I'm busy doing stuff on the truck, house or something else.

Re: Quiet time
Sometimes I think I had it easier when I was working.Although my hours were very long I didn't have much of the day to day running around because that was the baby sitter or at least I didn't have the kids with me if I did have to do the running around. When I stopped working my children were very young. I was always taking them to the things they did and it was always something and it was fun but exhausting!
Maybe because I was more organized when I worked. I had everything scheduled so even if I was doing something with the kids it was all in my palm pilot.(Remember those?)
I always tried to make some time for me. I have always believed I couldn't be a great mom or employee or wife or whatever if I didn't take care of me. I need alone time. It doesn't need to be a lot but I need it to clear my head.
For me until I was unable to anymore it was the gym. I loved going to the gym and I would zone out while working out. It was the one place I rarely spoke to anyone. I was in my own world and I loved it.I didn't have a workout buddy. They only time I wasn't by myself is if I had a trainer with me or I was doing gymnastics vs a weight lifting or other type of workout.Gyms are great places to clear your head. I miss it more than almost anything. When I managed a gym for a while it was great because I could work out after I closed.
Horse back riding is another great way as well. Again something I can no longer do. At least around here where I live. I used to live up the street from a riding stable and rode threw the park and on weekends I had a house up state NY in the mountains I loved to ride there as well.
Another great place and time is out at the lake early in the morning when the only thing you ever saw on the lake was a few ducks and maybe a fish that would jump out of the water once in a while. That is the only time I ever would get up early voluntarily. It still is a great place.Kam's parents have a beautiful house on a small lake and the first time I saw it I thought to myself this is a little piece of heaven. It's just so relaxing to just sit there and watch all the birds and fish. I could spend hours doing that and never moving. So quiet you can hear the fish when they jump or when a bird lands on the water. The lake is like glass and a drop of water send a ripple through the whole lake. Its a great time to think or laugh or cry or do absolutely nothing.

That's close to what I usually get too. Of course, I'm only allowed to work 14 hours per day -[driving,loading,unloading,fuel and VI] Then I have to take 10 hours off with a minimum of 8 in sleeper.

It was the one place I rarely spoke to Man, I can relate to "easier when I was working" deal. So true. As I've stated before, I'm retired early. Took a year and a half to talk me into it. Goe's back to "The best plans of man". My plan was to not show up for work one day, as I could'nt show up anywhere anymore. In other words, never retire. Just how I'm made, born to work, all I knew how to do, get up, go, loved it. Without a long explanation, I now work 24/7, in spurts, all day long, even woke up a few times at night. My quiete time, has real value to me.

Re: Quiet time
Lights off, curled up in bed, with my nice soft pillow, and comforter. Just feels so wonderful, calm, and peaceful. Clear the head, no thoughts, no sound. Silence is wonderful.
