Carpet cleaning
The carpet here has gotten to be far darker than it should be. I've used many different shapoos on it and it isn't much better.
Most shampoos work from foaming.
I was thinkin' if I sprinkle baking soda on it and then lightly spray it with vinigar to get the foaming action ----
thoughts?

cleaning
I'm with ash, allot of stuff can get trapped under and in the padding and carpet. Ripped up all the stuff out of my house when I moved in and now if I want carpeting, I put down area rugs. I can always roll those up to clean under them.
I do understand that's not an option in some places, once you rip up the carpet, you're just left with a plywood underlayment.

Re: Carpet cleaning
It's not into the padding. Not even down to the backing.

Re: Carpet cleaning
Something wants me to say you'll be risking a bleaching action with the acid from the vinegar. Resolve has worked for me.
The above are thoughts and opinions from me. If anyone doesn't like it, don't criticize me. Just .

Re: Carpet cleaning
I posted this as much of a joke as anything. Ya'll know what happens when ya mix vinegar and baking soda.
I've talked to many that clean carpet in commercial areas and they use vinegar regularly. It cleans better than most anything else they use. Just have to be careful of he concentration. Don;t want everything to smell like pickles.

I felt the carpet was too light when I bought the place. Guess I fixed that--lol It would be nice it was a bit lighter though.

Re: Carpet cleaning
I've pretty much gotten the carpet back to it's original color.---Amazing what ya can do with a better shampooer.
I had a Hoover with 5 clockwize rotating brushes. The new one is a Bissel with heat and 2 larger brushes withwise across the machine. Works much better :D
