Don't Fry This.....
10 Things We Shouldn't Be Frying
Fried pickles have become a common site on appetizer menus at actual restaurants, not just state fairs. That doesn't mean the taste isn't the equivalent of a dirty bomb going off in your mouth.
Guacamole, We don't want to know what this looks like when you bite into it. Blech.
Butter, Points for cutting out the middle man of "actual food," but, come on. At least act like you aren't trying to kill people.
Fruit, For those who like to make healthier fried choices, apparently.
Bacon, This is probably what Icarus would have eaten. You simply can't fly so close to the sun.
Hamburger Buns That Are Actually Donuts. If we were fat, bald, yellow and cartoon, we might think this was ok.
Lattes, We're not sure who the target audience for a fried latte is anyway.
Margaritas, This is just plain disrespectful.
Beer, As abominable in concept as it must be in your mouth.
Spam Curds, The word SPAM already faces an uphill battle. Throw "fried" and "curds" into the mix and you've got the food of nightmares.

BACON?? Oh no, you've just pushed the ole perve button there kid. I fry the most perfect, crispy, golden bacon, this side of the Mississippi. Add the greatest scrambled eggs, flap-jacks with just the right amount of vanilla, and/or stawberries and whip cream, toast with real butter and strawberry jam, homade hashbrowns, milk and/or orange juice. I'm talking a belt unbuckling deal going on right there now. (LTCG).  (and a little garnish if you please) Almost makes it worth waking up in the morning with me

I didn't see deep dried hotdogs on the list.[non-breaded] I think they're good.
Deep fried bacon? What's the difference if ya deep fry it or juust fry it in pan. Usually too much grease either way.
Most donuts are deep fried to some extent.
How about a deep fried hamburger? If'n it's breaded, then ya don't need a bun. Just add everything ya'd add before the deepfry instead of after.
Spam curds? Well, somethingh as to improve the taste.
The hamburger buns that are donuts? maybe same as bagels---lol

Good catch kiss. I'm talking about the other people I feed. Me, wearing pants? Thats just CRAZY talk. All my cooking is simple, but I like to believe (I know), it's good. :angel

Oh, the way you describe fried bacon, in Arizona, I believe theres a law against it. Another way to do it, is to wrap hot dogs with bacon, and bake it. A sister (not my sister, nor of the nunnery type), was staying with me, did it that way one time. Pretty good. And did'nt have to loosen my pants though. Go figure? Anyway, we both ate, then had some hot dogs.

there's a burger joint in the Twin Cities called "Burger Jones" they have what's called a "White Trash Burger", and it's pretty damn good. it consists of a juicy burger, topped with melted Velveeta cheese, chicken fried bacon, and cheese curds. it was great, but the chicken fried bacon had just a little too much breading on it. i've deep fried a lot of stuff in my 20+ years as a cook. some things are better than others. strawberries are about the best fruit to fry, watermelon is the worst. i've had deep fried pickles, deep fried candy bars, and even deep fried peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. those are surprisingly tasty.

I just got home from my nieces wedding. For those of you who have never been to a Jewish affair, I will will make it very clear. It is all about food, and as much food as a human can eat without blowing up.Although they push the limits and try to stuff us to the point of blowing up. So now after two days and nights of food and more food and even left overs being sent home with us on top of that CONSTANT food,I'm nauseous beyond explanation. (Even though the food was amazing.) THIS IS NOT THE BEST THREAD TO READ!I saw the first line about the pickle and actually thought I was going to lose it .
I think I will skip food for a few days at least. As for this list. I think I will skip them forever.
By the way there was a story about the fried butter on the news. They take butter dip it in a cinnamon and sugar based batter and then deep fry it. Basically its a donut filled with grease when they are done. I couldn't even watch after I saw the guy take his first bite and melted butter dripped down his arm.I think I would get sick from something that greasy.

Except for the 4 or 5 times a year I indulge in some chicken wings or fish n chips, I dont eat anything deep fried. The Travel Channel had a segment called Deep Fried Paradise. I couldnt believe the things people would deep fry, This one place even wrapped bacon around steak and dropped it in!

I have to admit to one guilty pleasure I allow twice a year. I never thought I would eat them but they are amazing!!!!
Deep fried oreo's.They take oreos and coat them in a pancake batter then deep fry them, then they put powdered sugar on them. OMG they are so good but I think my cardiologist would kill me if he saw me eat them.lol TWICE a year! I can't eat more than 3 maybe 4 if I am really hungry when I get them. WARNING I strongly suggest if you are at a a fair or amusement park, do not eat these then go on rides unless you enjoy throwing up in public.NO I have done it but just eating them makes you nauseous.

That reminded me of something. In my old apartment the downstairs neighbors front and rear doors were aside from mine. It was the back door of mine that runs cornered to theirs that I remember. Their door opens up into their kitchen. I was coming home from my third shift job and as usual, I tip-toed up the stairs. My neighbors were three girls who stayed in the same one bedroom apartment. My front door was broken at the time, so I always kept it locked up, only using the rear entrance. This day, I noticed that the girls had left their rear door open. As I put my key in my door, I couldn't help looking into the other apartment. There, standing completely naked, except for a pair of bobby-sox, was one of my neighbors and she was frying bacon on the stove. She didn't turn around until the seal on my door broke making a sticky jar opening sound. She just stood there in shock, as I took in the sight of her. To break the tension, I touched my finger to the tip of my tongue and touched my butt, making a sizzling sound. Then I pointed and winked. She chuckled at first, but was brought back to reality when her sleeping boyfriend awoke and wanted to know when breakfast would be ready. I never saw her like that again, but I did see the other two for a story to be later named...

Kind of like a devil-dog, but square... It's two pieces of chocolate cake about the size of a 3X5 card and 1/2 inch thick. Add in a sugary vanilla creme filling and you got a, "Susie Q."

Thank you. I never had that stuff as a kid. Everyone bakes in my family.Although, I do know and like devil dogs.lol
My mother can't conceive even using a cake mix.I have used a few and some are actually pretty good. I just don't see why people are afraid to bake from scratch. It is easy if you just follow the recipe.

We have all those things but I don't eat most of them. I have had devil dogs and Yankee doodles (I think that's what they were called,cup cakes, if they still make them?).But as I said my family was always into home baked stuff so I never had a reason to eat most of that stuff. I have never had a Twinkie and don't plan on it either they don't appeal to me at all.
