Bert and Ernie poll
seems therem is a poll on msn about bert and ernie getting married... i pick the 3rd one on this, these are muppets why are talking about this...62% picked this one

This is not the first time the powers at be have been pressured to do this with Bert and Ernie . The last time this was addressed the answer they gave was "They are puppets. They are not real. They don't exist below the waste.".lol
This is all because the law legalizing gay marriage passed in NY.
I'm am thinking they should leave Bert and Ernie as Friends as they have always said they were. But Sesame street should get credit for being one of the first and few as well as the best at introducing alternative life styles in their show. They have tackled some very controversial subjects through the years. I believe gay relationships were one of them.They have covered many things when it wasn't popular to cover so cut them a break. They had gay couples, they don't have to have the puppets get married. They had mixed races too but it doesn't mean they need to have Cookie Monster marry Snuffiluficus's niece.They handled death and birth as well on the show. I give them credit for being brave and not always giving into public pressure or jumping on the "what's hot" now moments in the media.

Sesame Street isn't the only one to cover these things. they were probably the first for most though. The Simpsons [just to name one of many] have also covered many unpopular topics as well.

i have to agree with ya , and in all the shows i have seen for one reason or another, were nothing more then good Friends and as chazzy states, one does a good job of catching flack from the other

i think they went though this with the tela tubbies too and im still trying to debate barnie...i can see a purple dino cover in sweet baby ray's too on the grill. i think i seen a photo of big bird in the table al;l dress for christmas dinner and they were al;l at the table waiting to carve in ...bert erni and elmo ,,, oh they were on cheater i must of missed it.

Yes, some idiot decided that the show Teletubbies had "A gay teletubbie". LMAO. Have you seen these things? The argument was he was "purple" , had a so called " gay symbol" on his head (He has a triangle on his head)and made " gay sounds". When I heard this I immediately checked with all my gay friends, and I have to say I didn't find a single one of them that was purple, had a symbol like that on his head or made the sounds the Teletubbie made. So either the Teletubbie isn't gay or my gay friends are wrong and need to switch partners because apparently they must be heterosexual.Some people seriously need to get a life!
