Re: sit around the campfire
Yeah, I believe they are black bears, they're a very rare site though...I came across some fresh bear tracks while hiking to a favorite creek spot some years ago.

Re: sit around the campfire
The last time I went camping, I was in my late 20's. We scheduled ourselves a nam-night. That's where everyone runs around in the dark, armed with small ammunition in the form of fireworks (crackers, bottle-rockets,...etc.) and we shoot them at each other while ducking from cover. One of the guys got his headlight to his BMW shot out, and another got numb fingers from a pack of yellow-jackets that had a premature detonation incident. I went to bed early, but not before I cut the string to pack of fire-crackers that I had suspended above the fire that night. Sent everyone ducking for cover. They retaliated by releasing 20 frogs in my tent. The next morning, I noticed all the empty beer cans strewn about the site, so I cranked up the ole' chain-saw to saw some wood for the morning fire...

ihad a group once across from my site , we were camping in the wilderness camping area of porcupine mountains on lake superior, i watch then whacking away on a tree across the road and we were eating , they were at it a good hour, a guy and 2 chic ina pup tent and the guy got quite rude over me later going and sawing up the whole tree with my chain saw and was going to share some of it , till they lipped off about how far they drove to listen to my chain saw, i replied i drove a long way too and it was just the sound i wanted to hear, we had a fire burning all night they packed up the next morning and departed with out a word ......no sweat of my back..

QUOTE (freensleazy @ August 22, 2011, 01:31)Ok, I tried camping a few times just to see what the big deal was about. And Im not gonna lie, I was dragged in, kicking and screaming. And it was in cabins with toilets and showers. Nope. Aint for me. Call me a priss, a pussy, a city boy, I dont give a rats ass. Nobody's draggin my white ass into any of those places again. I'll expound on what Newbs said before. To me, roughing it is going to a Motel 6 that doesnt have a microwave, a hairdryer or in room coffee maker
I'd rather sleep oon the ground. BE more comfy than a motel 6 bed.

I love that you call 3 acres a SMALL field. My kids bitch about mowing the lawn once in a while . I use the word lawn loosely, it's more like a patch of mostly green weeds.

LOL Yes you got your money's worth. I can tell by your fabulous spelling. As you know I am an expert on spelling.
Just a little side note. I have noticed I am very good at figuring out what people are saying when they write in the form that NRG, Free and a few others have done. That is a bit scary. But I think it's because that's how I actually spell most of the time.
