Re: 20 Secrets Men Keep
Why do I get the suspicion that the 20 secrets were written by a woman? If these were really secrets by men, women wouldn't have anything to complain about...EVER. We'd (guys) be saints...

QUOTE (GentleGiant388 @ July 27, 2011, 01:16)
According to the latest poll making the news rounds this morning, men are shallow pigs...nearly half of the men in the poll say they would dump their woman if she gained too much weight. Very low percentage of woman would dump their man for the same reason.
If someone runs across the poll with the stats, please copy and paste for me

Re: 20 Secrets Men Keep
A new survey has found that nearly half of men would dump a woman who gained too much weight.
The poll, of 70,000 people across the U.S. showed that 48 percent of men would not want to be with their partner if she became fat.
By contrast just 20 per cent of women would stop seeing their man when faced with the situation.
The poll found that over a third of men believed that women start to loose their looks at the age of 40, while a quarter believe that a woman is beyond her prime after 50. The same was true of women, though a further 23 per cent believed that a man would never lose his looks.
"Even as men are getting more comfortable with meeting their girlfriends online... other romantic behaviours have proven to be timeless ones: chivalry isn''t dead, size matters, and women forgive while men forget."

In the beginning, God created man, and said "I can do better than this".

Re: 20 Secrets Men Keep
The problem I see with some of these polls is they are hypothetical.I believe that many men and women believe they are answering truthfully ,especially if it is a totally anonymous poll.(People answer differently when they have to identify themselves because they are afraid they will be judged.)However you can't really answer many of these things until you are in the situation. Mostly because you have to many other factors.
The question regarding if a man would end a relationship if their partner got fat is a perfect example a question most "can't" answer honestly.I think it's more about what they feel their preference is at the time. I know that most of us can say that we have put on weight as we have gotten older and/or had children. Most husbands don't go running for the hills when that happens. Some might but for many reasons and I will bet in most cases its not due to the weight issue. By the time we put on the weight there is much more of an emotional attachment in the relationship.
I really don't get as angry as some when I see the statements about a guy wanting a thin or athletic women. I think that person is just stating his preference honestly. Lets face it at the very beginning when you first meet a person face to face (If it wasn't an online relationship first) the only thing you have to go on is appearance because you know nothing about that person. I believe most people have a preference on looks.Think of it as if you could design your ideal partner ,looks included, what would they look like? Some people prefer dark hair, some light, some tall some short. So why do we get so annoyed when its said that someone prefers thin over heavy? It's really more a reflection of how we feel about ourselves I believe. Is it wrong when a person put in a profile that they prefer one sex over another? Or one race over another? Funny how some things strike a cord differently with us. It even funnier that the one thing that's gets us the most angry is the thing that is changeable. We can all put on weight or lose it to accommodate the wants if we tried hard enough I suppose (I am not saying it's easy.) But we can't get taller or shorter of change the color of our skin or many other things yet those things don't seem to get us as angry. Do people that smoke get angry when they see "I prefer a non smoker"? That again is something a person can potentially change.

Re: 20 Secrets Men Keep
I saw maybe the same talk show ash, 10 secrets men keep from their spouses.
I didn't watch it all but I think a few were checking our email, fantasizing about someone else during sex and masturbating at least once a week.
