Other site atmosphere
Don't intend this to negative, just honest. I frequent "another site". I posted to another post this morning. I was on topic, but as I attempt to throw a bit of humor in most posts, I did there as well. Several hours later, I visited the same topic, and my post was deleted by a moderator as, "Off Topic", was nicely notated "Please stay on topic". Granted my litte humor was'nt all that, not like "Joke material", just light hearted. What I'm getting at is, I appreciate the liberty WN gives it's member's to vary a bit from the original topic(s), and have a little fun with it. That's all. (I'm naked) for WN.

Re: Other site atmosphere
At one time, we had to take a pretty hard line on hijacking here, going off topic, and hijacking to me are two totally different things.
Sometimes, it's just a very natural flow of conversation that ends up being "off topic"...sometimes, it's good to break off, and just spin off a new topic.
Hijacking was a really big problem at one time a long time ago, every topic would quickly become a running personal joke among just a few, or full pages of a flirt/love back and forth between two. I remember the thread that forced us to do our last anti-hijacking campaign here, as I said it was a long time ago, but a women member was quite heart broken and confused, she posted about an online thing she had going on and suddenly the guy turned on her, said some horrible things and kinda scared and freaked her out. The thread was quickly hijacked right after posting by two people who turned into a running joke about breakfast cereals.
We do discourage outright hijacking, a few posts are okay, but a deliberate page after page, day after day of hijacking a thread, it's just rude.
A little fun, or a discussion morphing over several pages is not such a big deal here.

We do discourage outright hijacking, Yes, yes, my mobile struck again. Soon as I add a critter re: quotes, it all goe's away (see above) As I was saying, thx Chazzy. Could have protested the deletion, but why, no biggie, can't be bothered with it. Would have gotten deleted as off topic anyway, yuk, yuk, yuk.(in place of laugh critter, and don't you kid's try this at home). I reiterate, forums are funner here, and how are YOU dressed?

Re: Other site atmosphere
I think the other site also has a strict policy about repeat topics, locking threads and telling you that the topic has already been posted and to use the search feature to find it.
I like that sometimes the same topic worded a bit differently, posted by a different person, put before a new batch of members results in a whole other discussion.
The other site is completely different, and they have their reasons for their policies and rules.
We do hope that most of you do like the more relaxed atmosphere here.

Re: Other site atmosphere
Can you post alright from your mobile without the quote? Just use reply, I can wear on the nerves anyway, we don't need to read everything I write more than once

Re: Other site atmosphere
I know of the other site you speak of. I'm not happy with the atmosphere there either. Don't post much of anything there. Just do some messages and look around. I much prefer our the lite and fun we have here. Besides, the friends I have made here will be forever.

Re: Other site atmosphere
DEpendiong on what other site and where ya posted. If it was NOT a usual forum but a persons blog or other post, the author can deleate what they don't want there.
Some are so protective that most of the respondents get deleated.
It's sad that others cann't take a "light hearted" joke. It's even sadder that many cann't handle any views contrary to thiers.

Ok, it was probsbly the 16 year old thing that did it. Site have to be more and more careful about that. Even if it was meant as humor.

Re: Other site atmosphere
Your probably right OOMG. They'd (other site or sites) really love this one: (deleted before posting). It's a sick, bad taste joke, even for me. Do I think that, even here, I'll get hammered for repeating it? I fully expect it. Just making a point that there are those, including myself, can be offended, and/or too touchy at times. Good thing too, as freedom of speach, has nothing to do with the right to be offended. Other thinkers, know what I'm saying. and

Re: Other site atmosphere
Yeah, we'd have to edit something like that, I'v talked many times before about any underage content.
I dread seeing a "When did you lose your viginity" or "What was your first time like?" types of topics, cuz I know most posts will be sweet memories of high school crushes and sweethearts, but always, always, alwayss..several will have to be edited and/or deleted.
Doesn't matter to us what the legal age of consent is where you live, we really don't want any sexual content here that involves anyone under the age of 18.
Which is why I had to edit your post here. Sorry,
Humor, I love laughing, I love South Park, Simpsons, stand up comedy, something I may laugh at in my own home, doesn't make it appropriate share here.

Re: Other site atmosphere
Quite alright Chazzy. No harm, no foul. Maybe I should/could have used a different example. Main point being, a difference between fun, friendly sites (WN), and others. Mavbe encouraging newer members to stick around, or others come back. Maybe. .(Hope all realize I DO NOT roll that way.)
