Wow, that's a tough one.I've never had that happen but ,I'm sure that wouldn't help the mood.I would hope I could make a joke and get back in the mood with in a few minutes.(After making him sweat a little first.lol).
Let's get real our mind does many things during sex including thinking about many people and situations.I will admit it might also have to do with who's name he called out and what the relationship was with that person as well, as to what my reaction might be.I hope I never have to find out what I would do.
I would think it happens a lot. I would also imagine it can happen more easily if the person just got out of a long term relationship . Your best chance of avoiding doing that is get into the habit of calling your partners a name like hun,babe etc.lol

Im with L&H too. Make a joke out of it. Its not that big a deal. I dont think that its because theyre fantasizing about the person whose name was mentioned, I think its more because they were with that person for quite a while and was most familiar with. As a side note, I think that women take that far more insultingly than guys do. I can far more easily see a woman being offended and ending the whole situation than a guy.

I agree with Free(Don't fall over from shock). As I said I think I would totally understand if someone was in a long term relationship and used that name.If someone called me a name like my best friend and they never had a relationship with that person. That might take a bit longer to get over. Especially because my best friend is fucking hot!lol That also doesn't mean it wouldn't kill the mood, at least for a moment. Remember that sex is in our heads more than anything so it might take a minute to get back to business even if I didn't get angry and understood the situation.
I don't know if I agree with the part about women taking it more serious than men. I have never been in that situation so I can't say for sure, but I know there are many men that are more sensitive than some women I know.

Well.... I'm just going to be blatanly honest! It hasn't happened to me before but if it ever did! I would probably remove his hands off me and get my things turning as I reached the door to tell him ..... "maybe u should call her so she can come over" just before I went out it! I understand people make mistakes and may even get over it later but..... I'm just the type of person who wants the attention of the person I'm with. If were both seeing other people that's fine.... I would already knowabout it and expect BUT don't lie about it... If that's the case! I'd rather a guy be honest about his "mistake" than trying to play it off and lie! Attention to the fellas:::: if u fuck up.... Just MAN UP don't try to lie about it..... You'll NEVER get the pussy that way! Or at least mine anyway! Your response was interesting Cupcake. You assumed that because the guy would call you a different name you assume he would be thinking of another women or cheating on you ,or both.
I don't think that way.I think it could be a habit. I am always calling people the wrong names in day to day life. It's kind of a family joke that all the women do that in our family. I will call my kids every name in the family including the dog sometimes before I get to the right one. Especially if it's during a moment of anger, or excitement or rushing to something.
If someone is in a relationship for a long time its just a habit to use that name. I certainly don't think it means the person is definitely thinking of that person. During sex if your anything like me, your not having anything specific go through your mind. It's my body reacting and what ever comes out is just a response to how I feel.I can't really tell you what if anything that I say during sex. (You would have to ask Kam.lol)I just had a scary thought here. Maybe I have used the wrong name but I just don't know because no one ever said anything.lol
Anyway, it's interesting to see a different take on it. Again,great topic Kiss!
Oh and for Free: You were doing really well to you got to the Chris Christie part. Just when I thought you were getting smarter and starting to see things my way.I still love you. I was always told to be nice and patient with the mentally handicapped.

Although being blatanly honest I didnt necessarily mean that I would think that he was cheating or etc. I may have worded it wrong. I understand what u mean. I just came out of a long relationship several months ago. And I've done the family roll call thing. I guess what I was trying to say is it would kill the mood for me. Not sayin if its right or wrong it's just me. I would as I said prob leave but I also would prob get over it. I am an understanding person. Me leaving would be more of that fact of letting him know I don't want it to happen again. That it would be an issue, if done again. I'm quite sure he would think about it and explain with the understanding that I know he's human, but like I said I want his whole attention..... Bcuz he would be getting mine. It has almost happened to me actually butthe other way around and it was not "in the moment" so I can see how that can happen. Thats why the idea of pet names is the best idea I hope that explains it a bit more. I totally get what ur sayin Newbie it's just when I'm with a man.... Call me spoiled I guess! I want to give him all of me..... And when I do he needs to get my name right! .... Bcuz he WILL be callin it out..... Often.... Lol

I didn't mean it as a criticism at all.I completely understand . I think more women think your general way than the way I do. I do understand the mood killing as I stated earlier.
I was just discussing last night that there are many things that can kill a great mood that sometimes has been building all day and one wrong word and BAM! your mood changes,not for the good.That's why I feel humor is so important. For me it helps get me past an awkward moment or sensitive subject.
Like I said I like reading how people see things from a different point of view or talk about how they think they would react to a situation.Besides I believe the answers we give really depend on our frame of mind at the moment.
