Cat on the Keyboard
About a week ago, I got up to refill my coffee cup while working on the computer.
When I came back, one of my cats had plunked himself down on the keyboard to nap, groom, annoy the crap outta me, who knows why, that's cats for ya.
Anyway, I'm guessing the cat while lounging on the keyboard, managed to depress and hold a few buttons and somehow set some shortcuts.
Frick, frick, frick....I have no way of know what keys the cat used, so now while I'm trying to type and edit allot of work on any documents or articles I'm apparently fairly often using the right keys to set off the set shortcuts.
Screen changes, windows close, the calculator pops up, other programs open.
Dam cats, that's why they are so cute, fuzzy and eyes the size of dessert plates when they're kittens, they have to be irrestible at that age or they would never find homes.
Geez...hell, you know me, I love 'em even when they grow up.

Re: Cat on the Keyboard
My sons cat attacks cell phones if he doesn't like the music it's playing.lol My son also fixes computers and is a computer science major so there are always multiple computers whether they be laptops, desk tops, tablets and any other form you can imagine. The cat seems to find the one that would drive him the most crazy to mess with and that is the one he walks across. Fortunately my son can fix what ever the cat does but to his complete frustration it usually takes hours to undo what the cat messes up in about 5 seconds. I swear you can almost see the cat laughing as if to say "That's what you get for not playing with me!". He feels bad if he locks him out of the room.I have visions of a Tom and Jerry kind of chase one day around his house when the cat messes something up that my son has a deadline for.
A little side note. When the cat sees a picture or video of himself on the screen it just seems to confuse the hell out of him. I think its my sons way of messing with him for screwing up the computers.LMAO I really have to video the cat with the cell phone or Ipad when he doesn't like the music it is funny as hell. He just keeps swatting and pawing at the screen until he gets to a song he likes. I bet apple would love that video. lol

Re: Cat on the Keyboard
Sometimes, I will go away from my laptop for like 30 minutes and my cat will sit on my keyboard and type stuff. I was on messenger the other day and went away for a while. When I came back, he typed a really long message to my friend.

A friend had a laptop at my place one day, and I caught one of my 2 cats, hacking into the others email. She has no respect for her sisters privacy. But then she got into WN, I had to pull the plug. Still checking to see if she had a chance to post her pics here. Oh ya, you'd recognize her, she also never wears clothes, and can't spell. A chip off the ole block, daddys' little girl.

Yes, I was. No it's not. She (my cat) takes pride in the clothes she love's to wear (buy's them herself), and she's excellent at spelling. Oh yes, did I mention, I'm full of shit? But I do try to never wear clothes, and have alway's had problems with grammer. Also, have a "bit" of strange sense of humor. Thx for responding. Be safe, have fun. I approve this message.

Thank you. My crap works so much better in person. Let's put it this way, pro gambler's, can look at my poker face and ask "How doe's he do keep that str8 face?". I don't gamble, and only tell white lies. (I've had enough bad habit's). I have the ability, on the fly, to make up a quick short story, makes total sense, and when another ask's "Really?", I say "No, I just made it up, I don't know anything about it." It amuses me to see other's reaction's, and fun as hell.

Yep, they have baskets of toys, several cat condos, fresh catnip from the garden but nothing compares to the computer mouse while I'm trying to work.

Re: Cat on the Keyboard
A long time ago, years ago, I was reading a newly posted topic, and again I just turned away for a few minutes and a cat deleted it.
It takes two precise mouse clicks to delete a thread. How she managed to do that while playfully batting at the mouse, I don't know. Seriously, you can look at them, they'll stare right into your eyes and really make you wonder sometimes.
With the dear old (now departed) dog, it was easy enough, if I were near the fridge, he'd look me in the eye and I knew what he was thinking "Leftovers?" If I walked near the front door "Go for a walk?" If he brought his toy, "Wanna play?" but cats, they're just kinda spooky sometimes.

Re: Cat on the Keyboard
I never lived with a cat full time until my son got his. I'm still not sure I have. I think that cat thinks he's human. I know he thinks he is in charge. I kinda think he is right sometimes.
Cats do have very different ways of communicating than dogs.I don't know about all cats but I know this cat knows how to get his point across. If my son wants to sleep and the cat decides it's play time trust me he will get my son up. He starts off nice by licking him or lightly pawing at him but if that doesn't work it goes to scratching and biting. My daughter thinks it's funny and says its revenge for all the times her brothers have tortured her to get out of bed. She thinks the cat is just doing it for her benefit. I have to admit it is funny how he takes charge when he wants attention. He gets really pissy if he wants you to play with the laser toy and you put it down. He just wont leave you alone until you start playing with it again. We always have to have a spare or extra batteries for it or it can get ugly.lol

Re: Cat on the Keyboard
All that sounds like my cats too. One of mine will even open the door herself. The best toys I found for my cats, the rings off milk containers, and twist ties. They all go nuts over those things. So far, I usually find twist ties in the cat food dish and have even found them in my shoes. Mine will go nuts over christmas garlin also. She will bury down under it and poke her just her head out and watch. Best toys have been the cheapest ones.

Re: Cat on the Keyboard
Garland and tinsel are extremely dangerous to cats and dogs. Please don't use them or let your animals play with them. If they get into their intestinal track or even just in their throat at best your looking at an expensive surgery at worst they die.
