In 1970 the vw beetle sold for 1999. Since that was a few years before my time thats it for my store of useless car info.

Re: Throwback Cars
had a very rare 1974 Chevy Nova hatchback. unfortunatley, i traded in on a 1996 Mustang. needed a car that i could drive, and not be coinstantly fixing. if i'd have had the place, and money, i woulda kept it and restored it.

Re: Throwback Cars
I had a 76 Cadillac Seville. What a great car that was. Black with red leather and every option that Cadillac offered at the time. And lemme tell ya, that sunuvabitch was fast. That would be a cool ride to bring back. In retrospect, I wish I would have kept it.

And, you are being very selfish with it, too.

I had a Nova Hatchback too. It had the 305 V8. I dropped a cylinder in it , but still drove it for awhile before retiring to the junk yard.

I dropped a cylinder in it , but still drove it for awhile before retiring to the junk yard. mine had a 350 automatic. i stupidly bought a 350 bored 30 over from a guy $200...ended up sticking $1,000 into that engine, and then, just as we got it running good, the transmission started slipping, that's when i decided to trade it in.
i shoulda just rebuilt the original engine, all i really needed to do would have been replave rings and gaskets, and it would have ran like a top.

Re: Throwback Cars
Huh, here i thought those were ones ya thru back if ya didn't like 'em.----lol
Out of the "reborn" cars, about the only one I like is the Challenger. They kept the traditional 1970 lines and overall look. They also put thier engineers to work and made a 426 hemi small block that pproduces more power than the original "big block".
Still wouldn't buy one though. I think i can put $30,000 to better use.
I liked the newer Mustangs until they changed them.
