Vacation Time
Sarah and I are taking our Honeymoon and an extended vacation beginning at the end of July and running through mid Septmber.
We spent about 4 months deciding where to go and how long to stay and this is the itinerary we came up with.
July 28 leave DC arrive chicago (visit her cousin)
july 29 leave chicago, arrive San Fran (jus cuz)
aug 2 leave san fran arrive Hawaii
Aug 6 leave hawaii arrive new zealand
aug 9 leave new zealand arrive singapore
aug 12 leave singapore arrive new delhi.
aug 14 leave new delhi arrive Jeddah.
aug 14 leave jeddah arrive Athens.
Sep 8-11 leave athens arrive London.
sep 11 leave london arrive Wash D.C.
We are mostly shopping and doing some light tourism, but in athens we plan to spend a month on the 3 weeks on the islands and just running around without any clothing. (Myconos, lesbos, Rhodos, and Naxos are 4 of the Islands we will visit, and perhaps more if flights and ferries work out.

A deep dish pie from Mary's in Chicago
Anything fresh from Fisherman's Wharf in San Fran
A coconut/Hawaiin Tropic girl
A kiwi/maori girl
A pore girl that can sing
Tandoori chicken
Anything from the gold souk
A bottle Barbayanni ouzo from Plomari, Lesvos
A quality set of darts
And finally a post that yall are home safe and sound regaling all of your travels.

Now that's a vacation!!! Greece is hot, Turkey as well. Black sea coast in Bulgaria rules and it's very cheap.

the gold souk is the only reason we are stopping in Saudi. I really wanted Sarah to see what an acre or two of gold could look like.
The ouzo you'll have to do on your own... I can't even stand the smell of it.
and chaz, I hope to have many good pics when we return..

....okay, no ouzo, how about souvlaki?

Do you like the souvlaki on a stick or wrapped in pita?

If I have the time for a traditional meal, then I enjoy sitting and eating the platter that comes with the skewered meat. If I'm on the go, give it to me in a pita, hold the tomatoes, add extra sadziki, and give me plenty of napkins. I much prefer lamb over other types of meat.

I quite expect I will be a little tired of lamb on a stick in a month or so...

I had one good experience there--I went in to a tailor's shop and was measured; I went back and picked up my custom made ankle length leather coat for about $42.00.

Have to be fast, I paid for a few minutes at an internet cafe in Singapore,
Just want to tell all of you that I do miss you and even once in a while think of you.
We will be moving on to India on Saturday and on toward our main vacation next week.
anyway, only about 8 minutes left so I have to read and run.
