Re: Love is Ageless
Speaking from a 17 year age difference its not the easiest way to go into a relationship. As a parent I say if it was real love he would have waited until she grew up.

But 85 year old Hugh Heffner has been dumped by his 25 year old finance 3 days before their wedding...

Yes, I am what I am, but I actually have a brain as well. The first thing that came to mind, and I could be wrong, are'nt there some sort of under-age law's? And come on now, what the hell could they have in common? Paleeeez. Far-be-it for me to judge anyone, just saying. Anyone want to rip me, there's plenty to work with.

Re: Love is Ageless
I would be LIVID if one of my girls even suggested this type of thing. Shit, Im not overly thrilled with the guys they're with and theyre the same age! In fact, didnt Billy Joel, 62 recently married a 22 or 23 year old. I'm a Billy Joel fan, but thats just creepy and so transparent that it's about money. Any one remember Anna Nicole Smith? Yeah. Yeah, she was in love with that old geezer.

Perve, a underage marriage can be authorized only by court order when consent is signed by the parent or guardian. I know my girlfriend had to have the written consent of her father before she was married and she was twenty. And, this was in Mississippi! It did not sit well with her because she was not raised by her father. And, the question here, did they give him consent for marriage, or hand over custody?
I don't know if you can google, but check out how talented she is!

Re: Love is Ageless
Thx kissu. I think what free may have eluded to, and I agree, is not so much age difference, but age itself. Realizing your post was the age range, another issue IS age. What is an ok for "children" 16 and under, to be involved in an adult relationship. I.E. 16, 15, 14, and on? That's all I'm saying. Besides, at 16, any lady over 30, to me, was an old lady. And girls who were 13, 14, were kids, and could'nt be bothered with them. Again, I'm not one to critisize anyone.

Re: Love is Ageless
its good 2 talk about these things most girls these days are forming a lot younger then 20 years ago and are more educated now days but to be honest this guys walking on thin ice ,how ever now days if young lad scores with a older woman for the first time the only way that it would be fround upon is if his mum found out and in truth most dads would just piss themselfs laugthing remembering there youth so if its more excepted in males then female then isnt that sexism or should we take a harder position where boys r concerned!

Re: Love is Ageless
There was another perspective I overheard. One-hundred to a hundred and fifty years ago, unions of these age were common. Arranged marriages between the girls parents and an older gentleman in exchange for a her security or property.
However, we are not living in the 1800's, and new laws come into place for our protection.

Re: Love is Ageless
Interesting post Kiss!
I have a little different opinion on this than some. (Big surprise). I was married to someone 8 years older than me but got married at 22 or 23.There wasn't to much of a difference in our interests but then again I had older brothers and always hung out with people older than myself.I was done with school at 16 and working in Manhattan as well as modeling and living on my own at 17.Those things do make a difference. I dated a guy before Kam that was 9 years younger than me and I found it a bit odd at times.Even at my age now I found that 9 year difference uncomfortable at times. But not a huge issues.
My cousin married her high school math teacher who was not a young teacher either and had been divorced at least once with kids almost her age. If it were my daughter dating her math teacher I would probably not make it to the police to file a complaint. I would more than likely be the one going to jail because I would castrate the guy.
It's not so much the age difference as much as maturity. At 16 years old they think they are in love with ever boy they kiss. They also think they know it all.My cousin fell in love with a guy that would buy her a $15 silver chain because at 15 or 16 that's a big deal.Amazingly they did manage to stay married have 2 kids and live a pretty good life. But that is the extreme exception. He has since passed away and she is a young widow with 2 kids in college.
Age differences are more important at different ages or maturity levels in your life. I believe there are those who can fall in love at many ages with huge age differences and it would be no issue if they have other things in common or talk about things besides the music they listen too.. Its not the age that is the primary difference . It's maturity, interests, backgrounds and education that are the real issues. At 16 years old I would never be caught dead dating a guy 2 years younger, at 49 dating a guy 2 years younger is not an issue at all.(Except when Kam likes to through it in my face.lol)

Re: Love is Ageless
Newbie, I really don't know what you mean when you said you have a different take? Is it that is should be on a case by case basis?
My parents were 12 years apart. When they met she was 20, and he was 32. He had travel aboard during WW II. He had been married, with two children. And yet, their backgrounds could have played a bigger part of difference rather than their ages. My dad was raised in the city,
and my mom, a farm in a very tiny rural area.
Now after reading your post, I began to wonder, where did these two possibly meet? And again, for anyone who gives a crap, be sure and check out her music video.

I saw her music video. Basically, in the lyrics she called herself a slut and overall, it made my ears bleed

Re: Love is Ageless
What I meant is most people I have come across in my life look at strictly numbers. Most people see it as if your a certain age you have to be with a certain age. That's where the different take on it is with me. The thing I see on here that I do like is that you don't see that as much. I think you always have to look at it on an individual basis and the whole picture when it comes to the couple involved. As I stated if my daughters math teacher was even thinking of dating her he would never get close enough to her to give her a thing I would step in.
I do always wonder what a teenager and a 40+ person would talk about or base a relationship on other than a mentor type thing. I believe you can learn from anyone , everyday of your life but I can't imagine ever being attracted to a teenager for more than an initial "He or she is attractive" type moment. I do get the part where it feeds peoples egos to have some young guy or girl attracted to them but that wears off.I have had young guys hit on me and after the 1/2 a second of being flattered I was just cheeped out by the thought.
