I will not deny that I can be a little weird.
Went out at sunrise as usual this morning to have my coffee on the porch swing, and I noticed, couldn't help but notice the really huge Wolf Spider on the side of the brick. She, I assume, since Wolf Spiders are predators, had been out hunting all night.
As the sun rose with the temperature, she secured a cooler dark place under the window, but still in plain view.
Okay, so it's weird enough that I'm bothering to even post about it, but what's weirder...before I even finished my cup of coffee, I had named her Ruby Doo and during the hectic day of going in and out my front door, I would check on her, and even talk to Ruby Doo.
For some reason, I just cannot help myself, any living thing that ends up being around for any length of time I end up naming and talking to.
So yeah, there are those that will think that's nuts, and some of you that will understand what I'm talking about, I'll tell Ruby Doo ya said hello.

Ruby Doo was out again during my coffee time, so was Bunny Lou, the beautiful cottontail that takes the same path around my house every morning.
Wolf spiders are just cool, they hunt at night, and the females carry their babies on their back, which is a wonderful but very creepy sight.

Nope, they can get huge though, and they are kinda hairy like a Tarantula, they hunt and eat other bugs, don't use a web.

i put the old pic window from the house in the side of the garage and it sure lets in light for my work bench, every year i have a large garden spider spin a web and would be there all season. never named them though but i would feed them bugs and stuff from my garden when was going from the rain barrel getting water for the tomatoes and stuff, hated to see bees in it they are so scarce i would rescue them from the web, lots of hornets and bumbles,have to watch out when picking up apples or ya get stung... but i sure did like the big hairy spiders

Although I am deathly afraid of spiders, had a turantula jump my direction when I was a little kid (literally wet my pants), I can see where someone could become attached. Charlotte's Web had a lovely story to it...in Texas we name mosquitoes because they are the size of 747s.

At first, the gorgeous majestic deer that's been showing up in my backyard gardens went by the name 'You Hosta Eating Bastard'... but I soften easily....now I call him Everett, after a dear and departed uncle, who also loved gardens.
The dominant male hummingbird at my feeder, his name is Mike

Yeah, tell hubs that...
Everett has stomped my ferns and chewed my Hostas, Mike is pretty excited about his freshly filled feeders to guard, and Lloyd and Floyd, the two juvenile squirrels always hide in the hollow of the front shade tree when it storms, and follow me around the yard when I'm out.
It's weird.
