Computer Forensics
They sure use allot of computer forensics while trying to find sufficient evidence for the prosecutors, for building a case, defending a case.
Surely allot of this evidence is relevant, in context, fits a time-line and all that, but I was thinking about all the stuff I've done on my computer. Stuff I've researched out of curiosity, weird links I've clicked on while just aimlessly surfing, strange things I've googled to get more information about a story or article I was reading, ya know...just stuff.
Not that I have committed any crime, or plan too....I do think that if I ever were accused, under suspicion of something and my computer was seized, they could come to allot of silly conclusions.
"In Private" browsing is pretty cool, easier than using allot of the history cleaner techniques and software, since I have no children in the home, I just never feel that need to cover my tracks or erase my activity although I know deleted is never really deleted (unless you go through the "write to zeros" or something similar)

Re: Computer Forensics
I think if my computer was seized, they would think i live in the past(history stuff), or i plan a attack in a airplane, (anyone who flies aerial stunts must be suicidal, right??) or i am secretly joining a Indian tribe...lol

Re: Computer Forensics
The forensics are completely amazing. I had to sit in a class on it a couple of months ago. I was amazed at what they can do with your computer, phone, or anything electronic.

Re: Computer Forensics
They would probably lock me up and throw away the key. I once looked up bomb making when a news site said it was so easy and gave a website that had been removed earlier that day. I do some articles for scandal sites pertaining to politics. I get them wound up and watch them go. I even created a few fake scams for the purpose of teaching some friends about giving money away so willingly. Great, now I got to burn the hard drive. I'm probably on a watch list for saying b-o-m-...Hang on, somebody is kicking my front door...

Re: Computer Forensics
I've done similar things GG....like reading an article on something, google stuff because I'm not just going to soak up whatever they say, so I google, research stuff and glean what I think is the most accurate information. Some of things I've googled over the years, wow...

Re: Computer Forensics
"Doing research" was the argument put forward by Pete Townshend (guitarist with The Who)when he was found to have purchased access to a child pornography website in 2003. Needless to say his excuse was not accepted and he was put on the Sex Offenders Register for 5 years...

OOOooo yeah, thanks for memory jog on that one, I had forgotten all about that, pretty much the same defense Winona Ryder used for her shoplifting charges.

Re: Computer Forensics
Google is the worst for research in the sense that they save EVERYTHING! Every search word, every viewed site,...Yikes!...

Re: Computer Forensics
I use google for most basic benign kinds of things, and I have the common bad habit of using the google as a verb to describe any internet search, I do try to be careful with my keywords and phrases and still get the returns I need.
