In-Laws
Have you or do you, call your spouses/SOs parents Mom and Dad?
Just wondering, I never did, hubs and I both refer to each other's parents by their first name.

Re: In-Laws
I always called them Faye and Bill. Nothing was ever said one way or another. I think Mom or Dad would have suited them, too?

Re: In-Laws
And, Granny was Granny, although I know her first name was Elizabeth. I don't know what her husband's name was. The only thing I knew about him was he had been shot and killed during a card game.

Re: In-Laws
when speaking to them directly, or to anyone other than my ex and the kids, it's John & Mary.
to the kids, they are Grampa John and Grama Mary, to the ex it's your mom/dad.

Re: In-Laws
I always called them Mom and Pop. that's what they wanted. They were as sweet as any people can be. I loved them until the day they died. Which is more than I can say about their son.
I was very lucky to know them as well as the other in-laws that I still keep in touch with. I have 3 children with my ex and always felt that just because I divorced my husband it had nothing to do with the rest of the family. I even insisted that in our divorce papers there be something that said if anything were to happen to me that the kids would still have family contact with both sides of the family as they always have.My ex didn't speak to some of them or I should say they wouldn't speak to him, but the kids always had contact and a great relationship with all my in-laws as well as my side of the family. We all love each other and that shouldn't change.
