Re: general disscusions
It appears you have Freedom of Speech in the General Discussions (SP correctly). What ever happened to capitalization, and punctuation? Be happy and have a great weekend!

Re: general disscusions
One really good thing about posts like this. I am starting to think my writing skills aren't too bad after all.Ok not really. I have a feeling this gentleman texts a lot!
Freedom of speech has nothing to do with charging for something and this is a privately owned and operated site so the can even tell any of us what we are or are not allowed to say on this site.
Even in the context of what you are saying you have certain rights to speak your mind but that doesn't mean you can go into a crowed building and yell fire when there is none.

Re: general disscusions
you have the right to say whatever you want here. but WE (the site moderators), have the right to edit or delete it too...if you obey the rules, then you can pretty much say almost everything. and as far as communicating with other non vips? well, you know what they say...you gotta pay to play.

You can communicate with other members here, you can write and receive personal messages from all of our VIP members and all members (VIP and non-VIP) can use the chatrooms.
You can do quite allot with a free account here.

Re: general disscusions
I don't ever remember Freedom of Speech being free.
It has cost lots of lives.
These sites are for entertainment and so the owner has an income.
Have fun!!

Re: general disscusions
I think maybe his reference of "freedom of speech" was kind of a pun on the fact that most sites require a paid membership in order to contact other members, and often free accounts aren't actually free if you want to speak to others.
I dunno, I could be wrong, just the way I saw it.

Re: general disscusions
Even if the original post wasn't intended to really go to the "freedom's" we are supposed to have in this country it is an interesting topic that is widely misunderstood and misused.
I find three of the most misunderstood things seem to be Freedom of speech, Freedom of the press and separation of church and state.
I gave one example already in my previous post regarding freedom of speech. Now freedom of press is a bit harder. Many times going to court because even the so called experts don't agree as to what it includes or doesn't include. Some of you might remember when Geraldo Rivera gave away a location of our troops during a broadcast. That put many of our solders lives in jeopardy and he was told to leave and never come back.I think most agree it was wrong in the sense that why would he give that info to our enemies and put our military in danger? But, was he wrong in the eyes of the law? I don't think we ever got an answer. There is an ongoing argument as we speak about that website that publishes all kinds of secrets weather it be government, military or whatever.
Separation of church and state has nothing to do with how religious someone is.It is also not one single line. The intent seems to be more to not have religion be the guiding force in making or laws and deciding things in this country. It also guarantees that people have the right to, or not too follow the religion of there choice in this country with out it being held against them. However our laws are for the whole and do override some religious beliefs when it comes to our government looking out for all the people as a whole. So if you are in a religion that says kill your first born the government can and will override it and make it illegal.
