Cool, rare, funny things you have seen
Nrg and I started talking the other day about some cool things we've seen when I mentioned how on recent drive to the river, I got to see a juvenile eagle swoop down in front of me and snag a large snake from the grassy shoulder and fly through the forest with that snake wiggling and dangling from it's talons. That was cool.
Nrg told me a good ostrich story, funny, very funny.
Saw some guys in a electronic store parking lot once, they were loading up a box of a TV that was massive in size, they got it on the truck, slammed the tailgate closed and as soon as they made the initial turn to pull out of the parking spot, the huge TV did a flip over the truck's side and slammed into the pavement.

This story adds strength to the rumors about blondes.lol I was getting fuel at our local convenience store, & a lady pulled up behind me & filled her car, steps over the hose to go pay, comes back out, steps over the hose again, gets in her car & takes off. That gas nozzle peeled her rear fender back like a sardine can. I mean, she actually steps over the hose to get in her car...lmao

chazzy,that sounds like the one we had to fix a few years back, looked like they threw it off the loading dock.
on a rare type note i was reading about the baby born in china and it had two heads and only one body now that's rere and strange and......just freaky

There was a time to see a great blue heron was a gift as they are usually very shy, now their numbers are way up and to seem them at least fly over is common. A few years ago I was driving along the lake shore and there's a Heron standing on the side of the road...I was going about 45, and thought little of it, till it took flight right at my car! It looked like it was going to fly right in my open window as I am leaning as far over as possible. At the last possible second it caught an updraft or something and just cleared the roof of my car. I then began to laugh...later thinking of the latest news headlines...Man in ICU at local hospital after having a heron removed from his head.

A few years ago, I was on the Jersey turpike headed south. [by Newark airport]For once, I wasn't in a hurry and traffic was light. Out of my left comes this rather large goose. It hit the left front fender and feathers flew all over.
I think it was a canadian goose as I think I heard it go "eh" when it hit the truck.

Being on the Jersey Turnpike by Newark airport and having light traffic is truley a rare event.

Rarity: In southern Arizona, we have what's called Century plants. As their life span approx. 100 year's. Long and thin, like palm tree's. Had one in my yard a while back, and could see it out my living room window. Sitting one day, glanced out at it, just as it died, and watched it fall. It was about 40-50 tall. Did'nt do that top rail on the cyclone fence any good at all. That would'nt be an every day thing for ANYONE, to witness first hand. That's the truth.  And that's my claim to fame, sad huh?

When I was about 15, my father used to let move the car out of the driveway and park the car out front, whenever he left to go anywhere. One day he yelled at me, because the car was out front and he wasn't going anywhere. He was steamed, but I hadn't moved it, not once. This happened on four other occasions, until one summery evening. We were perched on the front steps, my father, newspaper in hand and I with the sports section, when the car made a funny groaning sound. It sounded like something under a heavy strain, creaking under the weight. My father, peering out from behind the paper looked first at me before looking at the car, some 20 feet away in its spot at the head of the drive. My mouth dropped open, as I was sure my dad's did too, because all of a sudden, the car came out of gear with a huge, "KLUNK!". It rolled out from the driveway backwards, the wheel turning as it rolled, like it was in a track or something. Slowly it stopped rolling backwards and began rolling forward down the street almost straight. It came to rest right in front of the house, the sidewalk slowing it to a full stop. There is sat, perfectly in front of the house. I couldn't have done that at that age with my experience behind the wheel... He looked at me and stared for what seemed like minutes before I spoke, "Looks like someone owes me an apology?!"
"Shut up! I know what your going to say, so lets just consider all the other times I yelled at you a preamble for the upcoming stupid things your going to do later..." Snapping his paper, he went back to his reading as if nothing really happened...

The parents of a friend of mine replaced an old wooden raft with a aluminum one. There were a bunch of us got the bright idea to rock it and see what happened. Well after a few of us started to slide off one end it finally flipped and sent my friends girlfriend sailing thru the air.

I think I've seen those when we vactioned last year, the main base of the plant is impressive enough, but they get these very tall stalks when they flower?

Years ago in my long hair rock & roll days we were playing a gig during deer season, which is more like drunk season...The band was between sets so I went to use the bathroom..When I came out, I see coming towards me, a VERY drunken hunter. He comes to a very clumsy stop, sort of swaying and trying to look at me at the same time...so I stopped thinking he might fall, etc. He looks down, then looks at me one more time...and then takes a left turn......right into the womans bathroom!!! So drunk he thought he was headed for the wrong place when I came out...I waited to hear a scream and who knows what else...apparently he had the womans bathroom to his self...

i didn't see this in person, but my sister was at the airport in Minneapolis in the late 80's, and saw Andre the Giant. he was at the bar drinking Shirley Temples. he got up to go use the restroom, and headed for the women's room. luckily his traveling companion steered him in the right direction.

At a Vince Gill concert I was in line waiting to use the porta-john, outhouse...whatever, but the newest ones with the urinal for men had just come out, at least I'd never seen one...I thought well that's a good idea...there were a bunch lined up side by side, people, lines of people at each one. As I am standing there this woman walks out and is so thrilled..she exclaims "They Have the Nicest purse holders in there!"....total bedlam..

Years ago while out in the woods, parking with a lady, I heard a great horned owl wayyy off in the distance...So for shits and giggles I hooted back. It took a few, but the owl hooted again, so I replied. The next time it hooted it was closer! so I called again and this went on and the owl kept getting closer and closer, till he finally landed in a tree right above the car! We made no noise, as he is looking...head tipping side to side..I laughed thinking he HAD to be twitterpated and thinking my Olds Cutlass was the "Damn ugliest owl I ever seen, and how am I supposed to mount her?"...confused, he eventually flew away. Frustrated I am sure.
