The plan for summer
Got any? I'm just gonna spend my time gardening, clearing out some clutter, visiting my parents as often as possible and maybe get a room or two painted.

Re: The plan for summer
Ma and I are leaving on Sat for out East. Out there for a week doing more family research. After returning, I have new hours at work. It should work out good for me. No other plans for the summer, just cutting grass and such.

Re: The plan for summer
I love summer. Not a big fan of all the people who swarm down here for the summer but I find places that at for locals only at times.
We go to the beaches and out on friends boats make almost every meal out on the grill and go to outdoor concerts, shows and even movies on the beach. Yep summer is a Good thing.

Re: The plan for summer
I haven't had a real vacation in years! So this year my boyfriend and I are going to San Francisco for a few days and then to Yosemite for a week. I've never been farther west than Missouri and I've never flown so this will be an interesting trip. I'm excited and looking forward to time away from work!! I hope everyone has a great summer and if you're planning a trip stay safe!

Re: The plan for summer
Being retired early, which it's not all it's cracked up to be, vactions were something I never did, so I don't know how anyway. Surving the summer would be a nice thing, after all I went through recently. And to stay in the air, or shade, I live in Tucson, HELLO! Speaking of heat, if heat rises, would it make sense, since heat rises, that heaven, is hotter than hell?

Camping holidays and taking any and all of the baby Niece's Nephews and others to Zoo's, parks and anywhere else I can think of.

Re: The plan for summer
Summer here is beautiful to say the least...we get blasted with tourists or "flatlanders" as we infectionately call them like newbie mentioned...but I am used to them. There should be open season on them like deer, but deer are smarter so it might not be fair. I live by the largest inland lake in the state, and about 8 miles from Higgins Lake which is rated in the list of top ten most beautiful lakes in the world....so bonfires, pickin and a grinnin, dippy skinnin..just getting lost by staying off pavement as much as possible and one can go a longggg way through the forest, only touching pavement long enough to cross a main road to get back on the dirt! Take a grill and stop, cookout then continue on.....

Re: The plan for summer
OH yeah, we get tourists in my tiny town too....city folk.
We're one of the first stops on the wine trail. they swarm the main street shops and markets on weekends. Like you, I'm used to 'em.
I just plan on long drives on dirt roads, day trips to the creeks and rivers, quiet times!

I am planning on redecorating my son's room, hanging out, getting ready to run the half marathon in November, full marathon in January. I am so excited to not work as much as I usually do.

Re: The plan for summer
I wish summer would get here already. This weather sucks!
I'm ready for the kids to be done with school and get into summer. The two in college are done just waiting for high school to be done. Its like someone hits a switch when schools close down here. All the stuff on the boardwalk opens and summer concerts and events start. The big downfall is prices and traffic get crazy but we just shop on Wednesday and use back roads where we can.I am so ready for summer.
