Random Ramblings
I'm about to go under anesthesia for some tests. When I wake up I may say or do funny things. I've been known to do that in the past anyway. So if there are any funny messages from me in the next day or so that would be why. Does anyone have any funny post-anesthesia stories they'd like to share?

Well this really wasn't due to the anesthesia, it was about how they come up to you when you're not out, asking, "What is your name, and they might add and where do you live?".....just to see how out of it you are etc..well I had outpatient surgery yet they still had to dope me up pretty good..BUT, I did get tired of hearing the questions so I'd every now and then just yell, "I'm Elmer Fudd, I own a mansion and a yacht, or I am Elvis, so call me the King, thank you verrrry much"....stuff like that. Yaba Daba Doo...they got the hint.

Not me, but I was waiting with my girlfriend, who was about to go into surgery. I told her after the procedure, we were talking when she said, "I'd like two more sex on the beach".
I, however, talk in my sleep.

I have to many to tell them all. I had my wisdom teeth removed and when my husband(Ex-husband now)came to pick me up he had me leaning against a wall while he got my coat. He turned around and saw me slide down the wall to the floor. He just looked at the nurse and "I thought you said she was able to walk to the car.)
They say there are usually 3 types of reactions to anaesthetic. Angry, silly,dopey. My kids have covered all 3. My daughter had a bad reaction to chloral hydrate. She was like a violent drunk baby for 24 hours that sucked.My other two kids we just funny as hell on anaesthesia.By the way the doctor said NEVER let her get that medication again.

A bit  haven't had anethesia, since I was a kid, so don't remember much. But had my first morphene in my life, 2 weeks ago, for the severe pain. Next day, told the doc, I really don't want anymore. He asked why? Told him "I loved it", and that was a problem. As bad as I was, and if I could have walked, said I felt like heading to one of my old hoods, to have a dealer hook me up, lol. But seriously, I went under simular to anethesia, but slower, and the feeling was TOO good. That's why I never want it again. Sorry that I did'nt have an on topic comment.

i woke up with a rash all over a day or so latter, morphine gaVE me cold sweats over heating and a bad additude

Well my doc had been on a trip so as I was falling asleep I heard him talking about strippers at the airport and him telling his daughter she would never dress that way. In recovery I grabbed my boyfriends crotch and said something about it would make me feel better. I also tried to tell him about strippers at the airport but I wasn't making much sense. I'm at home resting now but I just woke up from dreaming I was singing with Clint Black... too bad I wasn't doing more with him!! Hope you all are having a great week so far

Well, since my earlier post here a few hours ago, looks as though my week is on a slow up-turn. One more hurdle, dentist Thursday, to end 5 day's of agony. On top of 5 hospital day's just prior to the teeth thing. Happy day's are near. Thank You!

A very long time ago, I woke up in a hospital room after surgery angry as hell and wanting to bash in the surgeon's face, I kept demanding to see him. I didn't even understand why I was angry, all I knew is I was pissed at that surgeon and I wanted at him...then I started to remember, I woke up during the surgery, I remember a whole lot of pain, and hearing the surgeon's voice panicking and yelling at the anesthesiologist for "more gas! more gas! She's awake!"
I should have been angry with the anesthesiologist, but in my mind I was just angry with the surgeon.

Oh Chazzy I'm sorry you had to go through that!
I used to be a veterinary assistant and at first I hated gas anesthesia. We used the same stuff they use for humans and there is such a fine line with that stuff. I'm sure for humans they are far more advanced in calculating dosage though. With animals you have to start with a high concentration of gas until the animal has gone through the fight stage and is sedated. Then, you turn your gas down but if you go too low then animal starts to wake up, too high and they quit breathing. Usually you err on the side of too low because you can always give more. Too high and you have to stop and do cpr. Anyway one of my first experiences was the vet turning on the gas and a friend of his came in and they started talking and he left me there alone. I had to start cpr. The dog was fine but after that I was nervous around gas until I was properly trained.. at a different clinic.

Very kind of you. It was just my turn to have an icky period. After Thursday, all else behind me, any more recovery, should be a "Walk in the park", in comparison to the last 2 weeks. It's all good. And back at ya!

Trust me Chazzy, if you only knew how many people hammer...rather nag me, you'd be surprised. Even my late gf told me "You're not as tough as you think you are". And dammit, it just sunk in, after all these year's, I'm not immortal. Who'd have thunk? Live a hard and wild life, and......?

i went to the oral surgeon once to get 4 teeth removed and woke just pissed i couldn't stand and wanted the hell out of there , the last thing i remember was the back words countdown and then woke up and was crawling for the door
now i have to go though this again with all my uppers
