Re: biggest pet peeve
Leaving the toilet seat up is of course way up there. Tracking dirt across my rug is close. Chewing loudly and slurping drinks are pretty much out also. Gratutious Profanity is a total turn off, i mean it's ok to say "let's fuck" but saying "my f'ing car, f'ing broke at the f'ing mall so F that pile of s" is a bit much for me to take. I am sure If I get going on this subject, I could fill several volumes with my pet peeves!

Dude, you are so right! I say 2 girls sitting across from each other in a restaurant, heads down looking at their phones and texting away like maniacs the whole time. I swear they were talking to each other!

Re: biggest pet peeve
GG welcome back!
My biggest pet peeve is when service people don't give service.
My most recent frustration: My washer (2 months old) broke down. Warrenty in full effect. 1 call - they will come out in 4 days - Sat. afternoon. They come out, diagnosis the problem, tell me they will order the part in a couple of days. Then I call in 1 week and they tell me the part will come in about 3 more days. Then they call 3 more days later and ask to come out the next day - only from 8-4 (because no one works from 8-4). I tell them I will call them back after I see if either I or my daughter can take the day off work. I call back a couple of hours later and surprise now the only day they can come out is Friday - 5 days later, a day I hadn't asked if I could have off. I finally get that set up and the repair man shows up with the part --- SURPRISE! wrong part. Now they have to order it again. When I called to complain that I should not have to pay for the washer that I don't have the use of all they said is "we are trying the best we can".
Sorry so long --- rambling and frustrated!

Ok, this isnt gonna be very PC, but to see a 45 year old (or older) fat chick dressed in low rise jeans or shorts with a midriff shirt makin believe that theyre still 20. All ages are sexy when done properly. I'd rather see a 50 year old dressed elegantly and looking sharp with what they have, than trying to act half their age. And dont jump on me about weight or age, a few extra pounds or years can be more appealing than a young body just because its young. JMO.

I for one, don't see any need to junp on you about this post, I think you phrased it well, follwod through with your thoughts in a very expressful, but respectful way.
I do see and agree with you that a woman who dresses age and shape appropriate is sexy and classy.

Ah..... down here, that's all the men drive..... either a big ass SUV or a big ass Truck.. and they're convinced they own the road, too.
Not sure mine would be considered an SUV... maybe a crossover. And I don't think I own the road.... I KNOW I do!

Today it's people who can't walk and talk at the same time... A lady today got a phone call and the world stopped in that moment. Only trouble was it was in line to get out of an overcrowded supermarket and she had a full cart! "Hey do you mind, I'm on the phone?!"...Right between the automatic doors!... I wanted to take the phone from her and throw it right through the opening. Then she might have moved along... Instead I had to be rude and shove her, her cart, and everything else so we folk who actually had to get somewhere, could go...

For me it's people that just flat out should not be on the road. You know the ones, they enter the highway doing 30mph and go straight for the left lane and hit the brakes. Even though there's no one there then they ride the brake all the way down the road. Or the ones that slow down to 25 in the middle of the highway to exit 100 yards down the road
The highway dept. goes through great lengths to ensure that you have plenty of acceleration time and deceleration time so use it!!!

I know this is unpopular but I do use my cell phone while driving but I also use a headset (and no, headset is not an alternate term for something else, lol, I wouldn't be the one driving to do that!). The other day I was driving at a very high rate of speed and this guy was reading a book. Yes, he was reading and driving, then the same day this little ditz was applying mascara at 70 mph.

I can top that one... A woman passed me not too long ago, doing 85 in a 65. She was on the phone while using a lighter-operated hair-curler. The visor was down and the flap that hides the mirror was down too. She had one hand holding the curler the other holding the phone and her knees were doing the steering... It was pretty dumbfounding and scary to boot!...

Cell phone vehicle-drivers.... please, they are just as bad or not worse than someone inebriated trying to drive, jmo. Driving should be just that, driving and nothing else! It's too late once someones life is taken due to someone using a cell phone talking or doing anything else, besides what their suppose to doing behind the wheel, and that's DRIVING!

what bugs me, is when there's a big concert or some other event in town, or in a town nearby, and the radio keeps advertising it, a week after it happened...Larry the Cable Guy did a show near here, on Dec. 3rd...on Dec. 5th they were running an ad on the radio telling how you could still get discount tickets for the show...
don't these radio PR guys get paid to keep up with the bads? and i bet they get paid quite well...

Re: biggest pet peeve
One thing that has bugged me for years is the irresponsibility of the News media. These folks should report the news, period, not infuse their own opinions into it. Many people just believe what they hear and dont bother to disseminate the information and assess what is really going on.
For example, I personally know many people whose job security nor their income have been affected by the current economic conditions. In fact, many of them have gotten their normal annual raises. Yet, if you talk to them, they're cutting back this year for Christmas, theyre not eating out as much as normal. And why? Their answer is because "Money is tight". For who? Certainly not for them. And by them not spending what they normally spend, other jobs are effected, causing the layoffs and unemployment that we're currently seeing. Dont forget, even if unemployment reaches 20% (which is virtually unheard of) That means that there are still 80% working that could be pluggin money into the economy, which creates jobs. Whether its eggs at the local diner or a new a new home, if people are buying it, other people are working to make it available for sale.
People arent buying cars because the media says that theres no money available to lend. That simply isnt true. The qualifications for approval may be more stringent, but car dealers will jump through hoops right now to obtain financing and the deals available right now are incredible. And no, Im not in the car business. Imagine what would happen to the auto industry if everyone who put off buying a car, or anything else for that matter, based on what they're hearing, would buy that product. It would have an enormous impact.
2 weeks ago, a very close friend of mine needed money for his business. He was apprehensive about going to the bank to try and borrow it based on what he'd been hearing on the news. 3 days later, they cut him a check for $50,000 on just his signature. No collateral.
I dont know, maybe its just me, but I think that if reporters would quit over sensationalizing things by using words like "crisis", "devastating" or "the worst since", it could change morale. If, rather than reporting "ABC furniture is down and incredible 20% over last year" they reported that "Despite current conditions, ABC Furniture's showrooms are still buzzing with customers and are eager to serve you with some of the best values on the market" things could slowly begin to turn the corner back to prosperity.
I believe that its the RESPONSIBILITY of the media, local or national to accurately report the news - without their opinions or spin.
Ok, I'm done ranting. Just my opinion.

What sucks is that the price of gas is going down but the price of everything else is going up! And some people either don't get an annual raise or a very little one while the higher prices stay the same!
