Wicked Weather
It looks beautiful right now, sunny, clear, hummingbirds buzzing the feeder I hung yesterday...but the doppler shows a tense afternoon, storms with hail and strong possibilities for tornados...I hate them 'naders.
Hopefully, I won't spend the day in my basement.

Re: Wicked Weather
It's a comin'.....should hit in the next hour. Allot of hail, up to softball size. Reed Timmer (Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers) has already gotten photos and videos of a tornado north of us.
At least, it should all move in and out before dark.
Yeah, maybe this is why snow isn't much of a bother to me.

Day 3: Still no sun in sight. The temperature reached a whopping 37 for a high. I could have sworn I saw snowflakes, but it turned out to be merely spitting rain drops. My boss said to me, "Morning Sunshine" which had me running for the door to look up only to just get my face wet, for the second time, since taking a shower earlier. Maybe there will be sun tomorrow...

Hail, never seen so much hail....hailing right now for the second time today. All week it seems we've had to watch Doppler and so far, most of the weekend and early the coming week.
No prime time TV here, just all Doppler broadcasting.
Haven't seen weather like this in a very long time.

Well, looks like at least 4 to 5 more days of storms, the hail we got was quartersized/gumball sized, some got hail as big as tennisballs...crazy stuff, haven't ever seen a spring like this.

My heart goe's out to all of you. This is not a time to brag about Tucson's weather. Damn that senile Al Gore. He personally engineered global warming, and seems to have failed misarably (the spelling king strikes again). And I suppose since he invented the internet, look for a world wide crash, anytime now. What ever happened to him anyway? Curious huh?

Re: Wicked Weather
Being redundant, the fact, and common knowlegde is, the planet is tilted. What is happening now is, it's trying to right itself. That's why the weather change. It's nothing nice, and nothing anyone can do about it. And again, my heart goe's out to all. I've seen the change in Tucson. 35 years ago, we had great lightning storms. No more. Monsoon season, strong winds, heavy rains, that could last up to 2 weeks. Now, only get 2 or 3 day's of pretty good rains. And over the year's, summer temps, do not hit 110 plus, contiuously for 10 plus day's in a row. Maybe hit 110, a couple times, now the norm is 100-105. (damn Al Gore and that global warming). All I can say, is batton down the hatch's, prepare for this bumpy ride, as the planets magnetic pull's, create more earthquakes, weather changes, and any other natural disasters. It's not me saying it, look out your windows. I do. Let's do all we can to help/support each other.

I don't much care to shovel or otherwise spend time removing snow however, I con cider last winter normal for here. The horrendous storms that keep happening aren't good but I think the rain from those is. There's many places in this country that have been in drought for many years.

Day 6: This morning it stopped raining...Ya right like hell...It was 40 degrees when I got up. Now it's 72 and muggy. The English Fog has finally cleared and the sun only threatens to come out. A few times it peaked out behind the clouds only long enough to blind motorists and have them seeing spots from the flash, before it sinks back behind the dark clouds. It's expected to be a hot and sticky night. That's a good thing if your with a lady, but it don't do you no good sleeping alone tonight. Maybe it will be better tomorrow...

The weather is insane lately. Its amazing that with all the technology we have these days we can't save more people from mothers nature. I was happy to see NRG was ok. I know he had a tornado warning when he signed off and some really bad thunderstorms.
We should have a new rule on here. When you live in an area that has crazy stuff going on you must post to let us know your ok ASAP.
I am a natural born worrier. If I know someone is going through something then I don't see or hear from them it drives me crazy. You wouldn't believe how I drive my kids crazy with this. There can be a car accident anywhere in NJ I will call or text them to make sure they are safe. I think its the Jewish mother part of me. It's in my DNA.
Stay safe, to all of you going though these horrible storms.

I talked to mom and my sister yesterday. They asked where I was because of all the storms. I told 'em both Kansas City. They both asked if I got in a tornado. I told 'em both I tried to catch 'em.
Good news is that the Ohio river is down. The bad news is that it'll be November before it's level is where it should be.

Sedalia got hit yesterday, today it's looking like just plain ole thunderstorms so far.
We welcome new members to the "concern and worry club" I am known as the Mother Hen, and there's good reason why funlovingpair are also called "Ma and Pa" If we don't hear from you, oh you will hear from us!
I still remember the vigil we kept here all night during Katrina. Sadly, a few members we never heard from again after the storm. One in particular I remember her logging in every morning, every single morning...she lived in New Orleans, one reply before the storm, she said she thought herself safe but she never logged in here again. I think of her all the time, wondering.....
Since the Joplin tornado, we now get an automated phone call when our area is in a tornado warning. That's cool.
