Blooms and sprouts.
Anybody doing any gardening yet? I haven't shopped for my plants yet, but just might have to do that this week.
Have too, just have to grow tomatoes every year, and gotta have that bed of catnip for the cats...love watching the cats tottally trippin' out on the fresh stuff.
I love loading my front porch with pots, hanging pots and window boxes of petunias and impatiens. Hanging up the hummingbird feeders and windchimes.
Grabbing that first cup of coffee at sunrise and head on out to the porch swing. Ah, makes me all happy and mellow!

Re: Blooms and sprouts.
Going to start this weekend as long as the weather stays nice. We always do a big vegetable garden. We will do lots of tomatoes since we like to can those. We will also do cucumbers, yellow squash, corn, jalapenos, onions, bell peppers, cantaloupes, watermelon, turnip greens, green beans, and okra. We also have grapes, blackberries, peach trees, walnut trees, and apple trees. I also like to plant some nice flowers around the place when I have time. Needless to say we stay quite busy during the summer but we also have some good food to eat!

Yep, ash...love spring time....hate 'naders. We had some rotation overhead just several days ago, and another storm front that could get nasty predicted this week.

At first they were talking about of a foot of snow for us again. Thank goodness its going to be too warm for that white stuff, but we'll get the rain. Not that we need it.

Re: Blooms and sprouts.
Peas, beets, onions, shallots, garlic and potatoes are already planted. First 2 gallons of dandelion wine are fermenting. Will be starting another 5 gallons this weekend. Spring seeds are started and in the cold frame waiting until the weather breaks. Transplanted a bunch of edible wildflowers into the yard. Catnip, coltsfoot, hibiscus, dandelion root tinctures are soaking for next winter's colds. Fire Water for next winter's colds is done and bottled. House plants are on the patio and pruned (and covered in case of frost). And now I'm sitting back, relaxing with a glass of Dandelion Wine from last year's batch. Thank you Chazzy for the recipe!!

Re: Blooms and sprouts.
I decided this year that the cold lasted to long into the summer months. So I am just going to get my soil good and fertile for next year.
Even still this morning it is only 30 degrees out. It has only been warm during the day for the last week or so.
