Re: Birthday
Is that all ??? Feels like he's been around for centuries.
Hang on, if he's 66 then that means I'm ... really old too !!
Funny how talent comes in groups isn't it, and Clapton's generation was on of the richest ever for guitar players. Still, he was the Cream of them (sorry...)

Re: Birthday
Even after all the years of Cocaine and Tears in Heaven, he says he still feels fresh From The Cradle. And even after his admission "I Shot The Sheriff" he still lives on 461 Ocean Boulevard.

Just an aside, Ringo was the "nut" of the group. Year's after the boy's split up, he was inteviewed by a t.v. late night host. Was asked if it was true about thier drug use back in the day. He confirmed it. Then he was asked, "How did it feel being a member of the Beatles?", he repied, "I was?" Now that's a little yuk, yuk right there now.

Re: Birthday
I believe Eric Clapton did the first "MTV Unplugged". It was a brave thing to do back when they started that.
I always wonder how he gets through the song Tears In Heaven. I don't understand how he got through what lead to it, but to write and sing a song that is a constant reminder of the what had to be the most devastating day in his life proves he is a man stronger than most.We already knew he was more talented than most.I know many musicians say the music helps them heal as writers say about their books and poems and other artists say about their medium no matter what it is.I just don't know if I could have something so personal and devastating out there for the world and have to hear it and sing it all the time.
I hope he had a wonderful birthday. He is one of the few "famous" people I actually admire a great deal.
