Classic cars
Coming back from the city the other day, saw a trailer hauling some new/newer cars...and one older Datsun...wow, it's been so long since I had seen or heard of a Datsun, I had completely forgotten about their existance. It was faded and in need of restoration, but it's gonna look hot when it's done!
Barrucudas, Superports, Dusters, Chargers....may not be at all practical....but so dam cool.

A 63 Vette Convertible, a 69 GTO, A 75 El Dorado Convertible or a 79 Seville. All of them black, of course!

Re: Classic cars
I had a Mach I in high school, & traded it for a BOSS 302 with ram air & a competition shifter, whch i still have, my dream car was a 63 vette with a split window. The L-88 corvette had so much horsepower they didnt even put a heater in, they never expected anyone would drive it on the street. the 1968 Z-28 Camaro came from the factory with Hooker Headers, they were in the trunk, you had to install em yourself, but it did come with em

Re: Classic cars
A friend owned a lime green Barrucuda convertible. She loved to haul ass with the top down. My brother was given a nice, blue Charger. I got to drive our family car, a 62' Corvair. We also had a very nice 58', 59' T-Bird. The steering wheel would shift to the right. A couple of friends had the El Camino's and Camero's. We had a Datsun B210. I sailed it into the orange groves one day. A 67' Olds Delta 88. My dad would Armourall the seats causing me to slide to the passenger side.
The last vehicle my dad drove was a 71' Volkswagon van. And, I can remember my grandparents Rambler.

It's the new, "Datsun 280ZX!" The Japanese version of the poor-man's "Corvette". I deliver parts for the local NAPA and one of my garages has all kinds of restoration projects in the works in his shop. His Datsun was originally bright orange. He plans to keep the same color for the auction coming up in May...

That's correct, I forgot. Datsun also made a 2 seater convertible for a few years. They were the 1500,1600 and 2000.

The, "Chevy Nova" a real American muscle car. It sold well in North America, but didn't fair well in South America. Who knew that the word, "Nova" roughly means, "Doesn't go" in Spanish...

the fastest car i ever owned was a chevy monza. I bought it cuz it had V8 motor mounts, i pulled the engine, dropped in a 350 with 4bolt mains that i got out of a school bus, with 575 HP, 5:17:1 rear end gears & a rachet shifter 9.0 seconds, i still hold the record at Kearney Raceway.. 26 trophies in a row

REAL MUSCLE!!!! I totally agree!!! Actually i owned a 1975 nova.. a 12 second car i had a '74 Nova Hatchback. don't really know how fast it would have gone, i didn't keep it long enough. after sinking too much $$$ into an engine for it, the trans started in, so i traded it in on a '96 'Stang. that car probably was fast too, but my top speed was 110 mph, on the drive home from the dealership. i was very glad that i slowed down when i did, shortly after i dropped back to 55mph (the legal speed at the time)...i met a state trooper....10 miles sooner and i'da been busted.

Re: Classic cars
I feel like I am reading my family history in cars. I had a Duster. It wasn't in the best shape but It was lime green so I could always find it in a parking lot. It leaked so bad when it rained it would fill with water so, I took a screw driver and punched holes in the floor boards to let the water drain out.
My one brother had a Fiat, Camero, Firebird, and a 64 or 64 1/2 mustang convertible. He restored the convertible to cherry condition and the next day after months and more money than he could afford at the time was driving and was car 2 in a 3 car accident and the mustang was totaled! He cried like a baby.
My other brother had a 65 Hardtop mustang fire engine red.My dad was into old Cadillacs with the pointed wing things. Can't remember the year. We also had a Station wagon with the wood trim sides and the seat that would pop up in the back of the car. We all loved sitting back there facing the back so our parents couldn't see what we were doing.lol
My son is currently restoring a 59 jeep in my driveway. I am looking forward to that being finished. Half the parts are sitting in my house.gggrrrr

57 Chevy, My brother had an early 60's impala that was cherry red, so cool..roadrunner, 62 Ford Falcon, looked a nerd mobile at the time but I loved it and wish I had it now. My other brother had what I think was a Biscayne? All I recall is that there was push buttons on the dash for the gears with a small lever that lifted up and down for forward and reverse....

Re: Classic cars
The car of the hour, was the 55' Chey 2 door post. Even an older car when I owned one back in high school. Better than that, was the last car I owned (10 years age) 86 Saab. Fuel ijected, rack and pinion steering, front wheel drive. Cruised on the freeway at 90, smooth as glass. Geared to high for the low end, after 40, wanna race? Anyone? "Bring it on!" Down-shift to 3rd, stick my foot in the fuel injector's, and Bye, bye. I'm outta there. That's not me getting smaller, just going away, with the quickness. My classic vehicle now? Any city bus. Let someone else pay maintainance, and repair's, on a foriegn luxury car. My money is in the bank now, not driving it. a bit.
