Re: waterbeds
One way to get around that, is to buy your own place. A little over 5 years ago, after total financial discipline, saved as much as humanly possible, paid cash for my small mobile. I not only do what I want in it, paint, re-carpet, new tile, etc., pay as I go, (no bill's) own it all, and no one can tell me I can't do, or what I must do. No payments, no forclosure. Not even a home owners association, with rules to follow. That's how it's done. Just saying, and not for everone, perfect for me. I am the perveman, and I approve this message.

True. Weather is favorable here, and also true, not to much re-sale value, but I did'nt buy it as an investment to "fix up", and turn a profit, I did it for me, to my liking, to live in. And when I die, someone will be hauling my carcus out of it. 10-4!

Re: waterbeds
I recently gave mine up(Within the last year), reluctantly I might add. I loved mine.
Most places let you have them if you take renters insurance which is very cheap. Also if you get the facts. A water bed based on the displacement of weight actually puts less stress on the floor than a refrigerator.Mine was a king size. By the way don't through out your sheets. A king size water bed is the same size as a California King regular mattress so you can still use them the other sizes you can use clips for if they are too big they sell them is all the stores now.
I have a new memory foam now It is weird at first and I wasn't sure if I would like it but I love it almost as much as my old water bed. They have something that is supposed to be even better. Its a gel-foam bed. Its memory foam with a gel built in and I hear its even more comfortable and has solved a few issues some people have with memory foam. The biggest issue with memory foam is they retain heat. The newer ones have resolved that to some degree but the gel one I understand have completely fixed it. I had a memory foam with an air mattress comb for a while THAT WAS AMAZING but it was defective and they place wasn't carrying them anymore so I just got a refund and the deal I got on that was not going to be matched anywhere so that's how I got the memory foam.
The best deal I have ever seen on any of these and has a LIFETIME NO QUESTIONS ASKED GUARANTEE is Costco. Also free delivery. Watch for the sales they have the best deals sometimes as much as half off on line through them. If you don't like it a year from now its a full money back and they even pick it up. How cool is that. lol
I know most people that sleep on water beds can't go to a regular bed so I hope this helps you. Don't think you would get much in a garage sale for the old water beds with all the new stuff out there.
