Re: techies
Yes and no. Yes you might if the computer tries to read the whole disc before downloading it. No, if it's an older system. They seem to just start from the top (inside) and download the disc as it goes, but eventually your going to need the info to finish the up-link or download. So your screwed either way. You need a new disc. Oh did I mention that the computer might get picky and not let you open the disc drive until it finishes its commands. That could tie up your disc drive semi-permanently or until you find a way to get it out manually while the system is off (preferably without breaking it...)

Re: techies
I have had an old system that read a broken disc without a problem. Fortunately all the information It needed was either prior to the crack or the crack when installed was smooth enough. Either way I was just happy it worked.I have had the ones that get stuck and I wanted to take a hammer to the drive. lol
Most people don't realize that a CD didn't have to be round. They forget this is a laser not a needle reading the disc. It needs to have all the information on it that's it. I remember the first time someone had given me a disc that wasn't "Normal". I was afraid to put it in my computer.lol It was a catalog for SCUBA equipment.
Oh come on you can't tell me that some things didn't scare the hell out of you the first time you saw them on your computer. Remember the first time you saw "Fatal Error".lol
