Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
I hear that Charlie is being admitted to a psychiatric hospital involuntarily, since he won't admit himself. That's just way too scary in it's own right. So we could all be admitted into the hospital because some folks think we aren't right in their heads?...

Okay, now it is John Stamos in talks to replace Sheen. I've met him. He would make a good sarcastic bastard.

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
There is a list a mile long that are supposedly in the running. The ones you named and even the thought that Heather Locklear could shake things up as she has in every show she has been on.They must be LOVING all the press this is getting and no advertising costs.
I think this list is longer than the list of replacements that are supposed to be lining up for Regis. The funny thing is that its almost the same list.IF they decide to keep the show going. IF they decide not to bring Sheen back and IF they replace him, will be dragged out as long as they can to keep everyone buzzing.
Regarding being admitted to a psych hospital against your will.... this is not new. Do you remember Britney Spears had it done to her? The law has always allowed this as far as I know. But its not like anyone can do it. You have to be reported to someone like the police or doctor. It isn't that hard either. Example:If you tell a police officer that your wife said she is going to kill herself. They can have her interviewed and order her to be taken into custody "for her own protection". The person has to be evaluated by a doctor. If that doctor feels the person might "be a danger to them self or others". Then they can hold them for further evaluation and it can vary in length depending on the severity.

Gotta love Hollywood. No one seems to be interested in Charlie for work but they want him admitted against his will for rants.
Pretty sad I'd say.

Heard they searched for 8 hours and could only find a ancient musket pistol, that hadn't been fired in 200 years. They also let slip that drugs were part of an underlying secondary search. They couldn't seize any if they had found any, but a judge was on standby just in case they found something they might need a new search warrant for...

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
They aren't giving him any credit. All the news lately is totally bias. We hear from expert after expert about how we are just watching him spiral out of control. It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that he was tired of taking all the blame for everything to get better, just because some expert with two PHD's tells him it's so.
To me this is like quitting smoking "Cold Turkey". If you go that route, people will tell you all about the statistics and how your going to fail. Truth is, they tried it and failed, so they want you to fail miserably. There's no way you could ever be that sucessful, and they couldn't do it. Now add in a PHD in Psychology, a Master's Degree in Clinical Biology, and there's absolutely no way Charlie could have quit the spiraling lifestyle without their help...

I love the so called experts having opinions on him without ever doing a proper evaluation. How unprofessional of the professionals. But then they do get paid to say bullshit and try to make it sound like they know what they are talking about to fill the airtime. The sad part is if he they find him dead they all sit and gloat and say "I am not surprised. I did see this coming."
What's up with Dr. Drew. First he was a sex expert, then a relationship expert, then a life coach, then a drug and alcohol addiction expert. What is he not an expert in? I am surprised they haven't had him criticizing his clothes yet.

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
I hope Charlie gets his shit together, I am not and have never been anti Sheen, I am as much anti-money rules hollywood, the entire music scene. Anything he gets away with or anyone for that matter is due to the money machine. Nashville is the worst example for me, yet the entertainment industry is a cold one across the board for the most part. I think his arrogance, ( Chuckies ) would be humorous if I thought that he's get what he deserves and that's blackballed by the industry. When money rules though, that would not and will not ever happen. He is a talent but damn he isn't THAT valuable as an actor. He is as a human being, as we all are. As far as the psychiatric evaluation process, and placing people in a facility without their okay is a tough call, and it varies from state to state. In Michigan it is quite the extensive process...Two psychiatrists must agree before placement and then the ruling psych. at the facility must also agree....all on the same page as far as is this person a danger to them self, and or others. The flipside is that as far as medically the mental health field has made leaps and bounds in discovery of many problems that were as such that they didn't know what to do with such people. By such people I mean many that now are treated for a anxiety disorder, or panic, not to mention manic depression and so on would be locked away, heavily sedated, to keep them under control. Many of these people today instead are not locked away, hidden from society. But that being said, the mental health field is the most stigmatic and ignorant of all medicine to this day! The first cutbacks in funding is there, it is rampant throughout the country. People are diagnosed, and thus generalized...as all depressions are the same, all labeled disorders are the same when in fact no two people are "wired" the same.....period. One person with depression might respond well to a certain medication with cognitive therapy, where another won't. But many psychiatrists have what I'd call "box's", and within them are the meds they believe the DSM manual says will correct a certain problem. So they hear a persons complaint and due to their lack of knowledge and open minds only know to place each person in their generalized "box"...thus only certain meds will work for this, and that. When in fact some respond to medications that are in combination, one of two meds say...and one of them might an anti psychotic yet it somehow works for depression when in tandem with another! So even though we've made great strides forward in this area, the mind is still far from understood though many in the field believe they know much more than they do..thus people are generalized. But the days where people were quickly whisked away are not at all like the were just a few short years ago. Medicine can be an arrogant field, as if they have things figured out when in fact theories have been proven wrong that were thought fact in every avenue of medicine. We shunned kineseology, and acupuncture ill they could no longer be denied. Chiropractic is still quackery to the ignorant doctor often times. I know, I've talked to them and if they'd had their way I'd have had back surgery years ago. But through kineseology, and chiropractic I am far better off..Okay down off the soap box I go...lol.

Grandelf, I love when you post. One because they are really interesting and well thought out and two because your posts sometimes make mine look short.lol
I have a niece in the field, a sisterinlaw that deals with special education therefor deals with the result or lack of result from many things you talked about. My daughter wants to go to school to study psychiatry hoping to make some major changes in the attitudes and make a difference in the field. At best the science of medicine is an educated guess. If you open your mind to the possibility that maybe things haven't been treated right and changes need to be made things might just improve. We don't want to have a world where they can lock you up at whim but we also want a world that you can be locked up if it might save your life or someone else. It's a fine line to walk. Many important things are.....

It is a fine line and a tough call...speaking of long posts I sent three much longer ones to our congressman for this area, and he actually replied, not a form letter, and kept in touch for a few years as I was helping a friend fight the "It can't been seen on a X-ray, thus is doesn't exist"...way of denying disability. This person extremely agoraphobic...I certainly didn't "win" the persons case but where it is almost unheard of that one gets SSI on the first appeal, period is rare, and when it is a mental health issue it's extremely rare. The Government wants imaginary bugs and drool buckets, and this had neither...So I spoke on their behalf....did it help? I hope I at least was part of the victory, over ignorance anyway.

And on a T.V. interview, he readily admits he "took" that much on a regular basis, the word "took" I take lightly. He seemed aloof as if even though that the huge amount mentioned had taken the lives of several celebrities in the past, several mentioned by the reporter, his response was yes they died, and I've been lucky...The manner in which he said that seemed very nonchalant. And that's why he might join the list of overdose victims. And I will yet again repeat I hope he somehow gets help...again and can somehow stay clean. Not for showbiz but for those around him that care. Think of the toll on his family...his Dad..he talked about that to, with the same air of "oh well"....

The news said she tweeted about taking a bottle of pills or something. They first made it sound like a suicide attempt but you never know all the facts.
As for his Broadway show... OMG the first round sold out in 18 minutes! you have got to be kidding me. That just proves people have either more money than they claim or the theory of everyone loves to see a train wreck.I can't imagine why anyone would pay to see him at this stage. Oh and the best is they have no idea what he will do in this "show". Nothing has been laid out. He might talk, yell, sing... He might just go out there and stare at the audience. So people just spent money on something but they don't know what. I would say they spent money to see this idiot but they have to be the biggest idiots for doing it.

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
I don't believe he is "replacing" Charlie in that way. I believe they are writing Charlie out and creating a new caractor for Ashton. I agree if he were stepping in to be Charlie it wouldn't work. I am wondering how they will bring the story line so that Charlie is written out forever. I doubt they will kill him off because it is a comedy , however they have covered some serious subjects so maybe they will do a drunk driving accident or something and do a "teaching moment" type of episode.

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
Morals contract reminds me of an episode of The Drew Carey Show won The Batmobile in a fast food contest. He and his girlfriend got caught by the cops screwing in the car in a field and were arrested. When they got out of jail, a rep from the restaurant chain showed up to take the car back because when they defiled the Batmobile, it broke the "Morals Clause". Lewis pipes up and says "Morals clause? The man kept a young boy in a cave!"
