Charlie, what are you thinking?
I realize that this is probably more of an American thing, but have ya seen (I frankly dont know how you could have missed it) the total meltdown of Charlie Sheen? This WAY overpaid moron has possibly lost his job and his marketability, but he has completely lost his mind as well as any grasp on reality. And now this with his kids being taken away? Somebody who is that far out there shouldnt be allowed to reproduce in the first place!

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
I agree! He has really flipped out. I can't watch his inteviews, but can't avoid hearing bits. Who does he think he is? I can't see in him what he is stating. There are many better looking, more talented, and better in bed. And, if you want to fuck yourself up fine, but you're right he has kids.
Lastly, it really pisses me off he has caused Two and a Half Men, to be cancelled. Think of all the people who will be out of work because of his insanity!!

Have to admit whilst I follow world news, I do turn off when it gets to Celeb nonsense. Mostly they seem bonkers and spoilt to me and sadly nothing bad they do seems to come as a surprise anymore.

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
It' my understanding the network cancelled the show for the rest of THIS season. Now, that may have changed.
The thing I get a laugh out of is those who were so surprized by his actions off screen. His dad Martin also had alcohol problems and perhaps more.
I hadn't heard about his kids being taken away. I do think he should learn to keep his mouth shut. Least in public.

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
Everyone acts like he is the first to go through this.
First off he has not lost anything because all of what he is doing gets people to watch, talk, twitter, etc.. He is Extremely marketable. He makes the networks a fortune. Even if he were a complete train wreck. Do you all remember a few guys named : Johnny Depp,Robert Downey Jr..Just to name two. They both had their "Less than Zero" moments .Sorry I had to use the tittle of that movie , it was just to easy.lol People have short memories. It's a very "What have you done for me lately" world we live in.As soon as he does whatever 3 second therapy to "fix" him everyone will love him again. Not just love him, but talk about what a great and courageous guy he is for overcoming all his trouble. That's IF he doesn't die first.
As for what the issue with the kids...None of us really know whats going on. Anyone that has been through a nasty divorce can tell you it gets ugly. Doing it in front of the watchful eye of the public would not be something anyone would really want if you knew what it was like.
I have never slept with him so I can't give my opinion of how he is in bed. So I'll skip that. lol The fact that he uses hookers so often makes me wonder however. lol
Regarding his talent. I would say again that is just up to each persons opinion I for one think he is very talented. That doesn't mean I have to like his personalty. I think Mel Gibson is talented but personally I think he is a waste of space on this earth if you ask me my opinion of him regarding his personality.
I will bet if the show and he can work out forcing each other to do what they have to do legally the show will be back. It is the top rated show , not just here but in several countries. They don't care what names Charlie Sheen calls anyone as long as he makes them all a boatload of cash. The only reason they stopped production is because they had to do "appear" to be concerned for his well being in case he shows up dead on the front page of some newspaper. They wouldn't want to get sued for "contributing to his death by making him work when its obvious he was headed down a bad path"
It's all business!

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
It's funny...Up here the local talk-shows have people calling in saying that his kids should be taken away, because of what's going on in his household. His drug addiction (for which he submitted to a drug test and found nothing) and the menage-a-trois going on in his bedroom (neither girl is bi-sexual by the way and both have made statements to the fact) is a real problem that he's abusing his twin boys with. So he's lost himself and feels like ranting things you'd only hear at a star trek convention trying to pass off as alien speech. At least he's not ranting Anti-Semitics like our buddy, "Mel". He has two girlfriends and is in the best shape of his life, unlike another buddy who can't keep it in his pants (hey Tiger).
While I'm at it, when did Disney buy out ABC? Since when is it necessary to pull out a non existent morality clause for a guy who can shoot all day, go out and get drunk, snort a little coke if he so wants (said he hasn't done it in weeks, but nobody believes since it's impossible to be that happy without a cause to blame it on), go home and have sex with one of his live in girlfriends (Yes, One) and still manage to get up in the morning to it all over again...I say, "Cut him some slack, let run it's course..."

GG is correct. He's marketing himself. Nothin more. I doubt that the network would permanently cancel the show. They make far too much money from it. Not to mention, Sheen was going to quit the show a couple years ago. Network talked him into staying.

Just my opinion, Charles is an idiot. A very wealthy idiot, but I won't be surprised if he leaves this earth at far too young an age, like so many before him. My opinion isn't based upon judging his habits....he is getting press and that ploy does work..but either he will crash and burn health wise, or his career will die...then he might crash and burn. I hope I am wrong. To me the real idiots are the ones considering paying him more. I feel bad for his Dad as he saved his ass a few years ago by dragging him out of a bad situation I believe? Anyway...again, if it's a drug thing..abuse of some kind, many have gotten past that and I am no one to judge, but an ego trip as well..."sorry Chuckie, eat the cheese."

Apparently, that's wrong too. It seems the jewlry store where she shoplifted from sold the surveillance tapes to TV for 35K. Really dumb...With a celeb that price is 1 mill easy... The whole ordeal has the prosecution's case weak at best now, since their key piece of evidence is now tainted to the point it may be thrown out, along with the whole case not far behind...

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
Yeah but think about it. The jewelry store gets nothing if they keep the tape closed in a lawyers safe. They don't give a damn what happens with the case. They made a lot more off the tape than they would have if she paid for the necklace.I do agree that they were stupid unless there is some other reason to take such a low amount.
What the hell was the prosecution thinking (Or not thinking ) when they didn't have that tape under lock and key and have a judge order it not be sold. Is this really a shock? Or maybe its an easy way for the prosecution to get out of sending the precious lohan brat to jail and now they can blame it on someone else, especially when the defense said they wont take a plea bargain. Now everyone gets to stand there like the scare crow in the wizard of oz and point in different directions.I smell bullshit!
Just a little side note .I would like to give my Mom the Crystal ball award. She was a paralegal and she predicted every single one of these events from the time the "stolen necklace" thing was announced weeks ago from the no plea to the tape being "leaked".

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
In a previous post I mentioned that "chuck" was an idiot, and also said that if the network gave him a raise and brought him back they were the idiots. I cheer them for firing his ass, and I used to like the guy. I cheer them especially after seeing a recent interview with him, after being fired. He admits he smokes lethal amounts of cocaine, or snorts it, whatever...or he says he DID, but he's past all that. Well he was supposedly passed all that more than a few times prior to this. The interviewer mention a few famous people lost, Joplin, Hendrix etc. And he was like yeah yeah...giving him more money wasn't going to help him, his comments towards the network were so stupid, he calling them "childish" amongst other synonyms. Yes the network will lose money, it isn't like they don't make enough? Chuckie boy needs to stay alive, then perhaps he can be all cocky and such. Again, I hope I am wrong when I say he might be another statistic.....

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
They did fire him. However, the balls in his court. From what I've seen they had no legitimite reason to fire him. There's a clause that says they could fire him for a felony. Well, time has long since passed on that.
I figger he'll get all the money from those unshot episodes and probabley lots more.
After all, if a no talent like Conan can extract tens of millions from NBC----

Re: Charlie, what are you thinking?
Well as far as I know his lifestyle had caused the show to come to a screeching halt a couple times while he got his shit together, that is enough to fire him. My thing about him is he then comes out all cocky wanting more money. It's true that publicity is well publicity and the Latoilette Jacksons of the world, ( one example ) will do anything for money. But his talent isn't that great where it will carry him through the fire if he keeps stoking it so to speak.

He getting "fired" is just a technicality. He was already fired FOR THE SEASON. They already said next year is still in question. As for his contract they know it and have all there ducks in a row. They will fight and come to a closed door agreement to shut everyone up.
And remember everyone is replaceable. He actually replaced Michael J. Fox in Spin City which was the top show at the time and it worked out fine. It's only a TV show.

From what I've seen on tv, He may be acting this way from drug withdrawl. It is possible after years of drug abuse.
Michael J. was replaced on "spin city" because of his Parkinson's. It's a bit different than the situation with Charlie.
If ya think about the shows content, it's far from a family thing. It degrades and demeans women, same for the one kid on it. It shows that if your rich, you can b e a drunk and drug addict. Ignore any responsibility.

I'm not a huge fan of Rob Lowe's. I do believe he has become a better actor, however, I don't think he could pull it off. The chemistry, and timing in that show is incredible.
I'm sure we can all think of a show in which an actor has left, and a new character has been introduced. One which comes to my mind is "8 Simple Rules". After John Ritter died suddenly, the show brought in David Spade and James Garner. It was no longer the same show, but still enjoyable.
And, I really feel lame mentioning this show, as I doubt many have watch it.

Lame mentioning 8 Simple Rules? Bah. Not lame.
But we could keep it in the John Ritter vein though. Nornam Fell played off as Mr Roeper, better than Don Knotts did as Mr Farley in Three's Company. I think Mrs Roepers character had a lot to do with that though.
