Do you consider your self "Tech Savy"?
I haven't worked in an office for about 14 years now. But I have my desk top computer, my laptop, and my cell phone.
I used to have a Palm pilot and a handspring.I have used a kindle, a Ipad and various other devices. I can reformat my computer if I need to and know how to use most of my features in my devices. I can hook up a cable box and dvd player as well. Yet in some ways I am a total idiot when it comes to technology. Especially gaming consoles. When I was working I used to laugh when they considered me the "Expert" in the office when it came to computers. My brothers who are both truly experts would die laughing if they ever heard any one refer to me as an expert in computers. When I ask how to fix something I always tell them "Don't tell why or how it works. Just tell me what button to push to fix this thing!"
I guess again like many other things its very subjective. Yes I am more knowledgeable about technology than my mother and she is more knowledgeable than many of her friends but that certainly doesn't make either of us even close to experts. Yes I was and still am really good at using software that I used as part of my job like PowerPoint and scheduling programs and even photo-shop to some extent. I think I am like most people and I can use what I use every day pretty well. But if something goes wrong that is a bit complicated I definitely refer to the true experts in the field. The funny thing is most of them don't use the software I do so sometimes I am better than they are in those things.
Today someone posted something regarding a very popular website that most of the world uses and I rarely go to except if I am going to look for something someone has sent me a specific link to.
Yesterday my son had to walk me through something seemingly ridiculously easy to him on the other website that everyone uses to connect with friends etc.. My daughter was aghast at the fact that I didn't know how to do things that they do every day on there or that I was not familiar with the terminology they used. I only use it for a few select friends and businesses that I need or want to stay in touch with so I never use those features the site offers. Here would be the same. I didn't post pictures for a long time because it never really occurred to me that it's probably easy if you just look at the page that says "POST PICTURES".
How much of a tech geek are you? And also could you give up all the technology that we use now without going through withdrawal's. I know I couldn't!

Re: Do you consider your self "Tech Savy"?
Hmmmmmm Interesting one this one.
I think I am actually more savy than I think I am really. Home technology is easy to me, work computers no problems, mobiles and I-Pads etc no worries.
I can also play around without seemingly knowing what I am doing (and I could never explain it to anyone) on my computer to fix things that go wrong with it.
Don't ask me to take it apart though, or re-program it or hack something or in fact anything even slightly involving math..thank you

I can flip a light switch. That count? And read the instructions on women, and will never figure it out. But determined to keep "feeling" my way around.

A woman only needs to know one man to understand all men. A man may know millions of woman, but will never understand a single one...

Re: Do you consider your self "Tech Savy"?
Technology changes so fast. Years ago people said that the second you drove your car off the lot it lost a big part of it's value. Some said because it was out of date almost as soon as you got it. Now if you buy the newest , best, most feature filled gadget I promise you by the time you get it home there is a newer, better more feature filled gadget out there.
Soon most things will be all tied in. The star of this has begun. Most of us already play on-line, work on-line to some extent, bank on-line, pay our bills on-line, go to school on-line and watch "TV" (although its not TV if its in the net) and entertainment on line, get our news and even make our phone calls on line. If your not doing it on-line, most of these if not all are done on your cell phone. Starting to see a trend? Guess what it will be like in ten years .The lines are staring to blur to the point of disappearing.Could even imagine a phone just being a phone these days?

Re: Do you consider your self "Tech Savy"?
LOL Let me know when it feels as good as body to body contact. Until then I don't think we have to worry about it replacing the real life in person kind.Internet sex helps sustain us and is a kind of foreplay for some. But I still believe given the choice most would still chose real body contact. Although Internet is much safer. It allows most people to even live out fantasies and fetishes that they might never get to explore in "real life". I think that's another thread though. lol

Re: Do you consider your self "Tech Savy"?
You need to step away from the computer to have sex with a person in person . lol
The problem is sometimes these gadgets make us a bit lazy because things are right at our fingertips. (No joke intended)
