new technology...
it's amazing what one can do on a cell phone these days..i just had a video chat with a friend. she was on her iphone. the only down side is that the view screen and camera are on opposite sides of the phone, but the new ones can be modified to fix that. has anyone else video chatted using a cell phone?

Re: new technology...
As far as I know up until recently the only cell that had video chat was the iphone. My son says the technology still needs a lot of work. He has the second generation. Now the Verizon one just came out and I understand they improved that feature even more. I believe there are a few other phones that are 4G that say they have the best video chat quality but, I haven't tried them, only read about them. Believe it or not some people use video chat for other than sexual reasons. I know I found it amazing too. LOL. I have video on my cell but I don't know if it can be used for video chat. I doubt it. Although the Android is a great phone mine is the first generation so still has some limitations. I will ask my brother, he has the newest Android with all the bells and whistles. For his business video conferencing would be a huge benefit and would save a lot of uploading video files to a client at times then having to wait for a reply. Especially while scouting locations and trying to get approvals on other visuals. Not to mention the various news they could send live over air as things happen. It would be like having a mini satellite truck in your pocket.(If there was a way to log in and put it on air from the actual phone)Yes that happens more times than you could imagine in our family. lol My other brother has an iphone. I bet the next family dinner will be battle over who has the best technically advanced cell phone. (Boys and their toys.) Oh joy.

Re: new technology...
My I-Phone 4G has face to to face calling and the camera and view screen are all on the front on the phone.
The main camera for picture taking is on the back, but when you are chatting face to face you don't have to keep flipping it over.
Useful when hubs is away on long shifts for days on end and we forget what the other looks like!

Re: new technology...
Sorry, but that is not correct. I know of several 3G web enabled phones (Many androids for example)with video cameras that still can't video chat. The software is not supported. That's why it was such a big thing when iphones had that feature.
Just like people with web enabled cell phones can't use the chat rooms on here even though we have Java on our phones. The software is not completable. The java is different and... OK I won't get into the whole explanation my computer geek told me. (Mostly because I can't. My eyes glazed over after I heard it won't work.) You just can't.
