eye surgery
well it looks like now they are telling me i need eye surgery , and my left is worse then my right... dam cataracts... what a drag it is getting old....

If it makes you feel any better.. If you have to have some surgery that would be the one I would pick over most others.
I actually had a doctor tell me that when my daughter needed open heart surgery as a baby. The quote was "If you have to have open heart surgery this is the one you want. It has a really great success rate." All I know is I heard "Your daughter needs open heart surgery". After that nothing could make me feel better. I hope the statement worked better for you.By the way she is all great now!
Get it done and get back on here quick. It's just not as much fun without you on here.Get well soon

thanks , i think in going to hold off awile yet, mom had it done , she said no problem , must be from 30 years of solder smoke in my face and who knows what else .
now i even read our monitors could be ruining your eyes too .

Cataract surgery is one of the most basic and you issues may not be due to anything other than age or genetics. I will say there are A LOT of doctors that do tell you that you need the surgery because they know its easy to get past the insurance company and the patients at a certain age with out to many questions.It can be a nice little vacation fund for the doctor. My mom actually had a doctor that tried to tell her she needed it and the guy was full of crap. She went for two other opinions and both doctors said there was no way she had cataracts. She did have other issues but that was handled with drops for a few weeks and now she is fine. SO always get a second and even third opinion but if you do need it, go to a good doctor and get it done. You don't want to mess with your eyesight.

yep i know the Mrs was saying the same , get another opinion, i know about the cat thing in my left eye was told its not in my vision yet , i went in to park falls marshfeild clinic....almost as good as the mayo. it just the doc young, long kinky hair, longer then mine even,i even had a ponytail that was half way down my back and i don't were it that long anymore too much hassle getting a brush though after riding .
then he says i got one in each eye and I'm still watching for the glaucoma yet, my grand dad had it in the end at a ripe old age
but anyway got more pressing maters again like moveing for the 3rd time...

Glaucoma runs in my family as well. There are things you can do to prevent or at least slow it down.
Stay away from certain medications. Like ADVAIR (I think that's the name its in a disk and you inhale it for asthma or respiratory infections sometimes) can kick you into diabetes! They don't tell you that but did a lot of reading on it and its true and irreversible. Other meds can do it as well even over the counter meds. Check anything out before you take it even if its a vitamin or herb. You would be amazed wheat they can do and not always in a good way.

yep i hear that, had one nurse i went in with a bad chest cold she tried to say i had copd , gave me two inhalers , the one was a steroid and i started nose bleeds like i never had before , i think it was symicore i stopped using it and the nose bleeds stopped too , had my lungs retested , they said i didn't need all this stuff ..yep trust your doctors
