Yet more travel stupidity!
I will try to make sense of this.I live right in the middle between 3 airports, Newark, Philadelphia and Atlantic City Airport. However, Newark and Atlantic City are a bit easier to drive to. I am trying to book a fight. As always I check the prices on all 3. So In this case Continental Airlines says they fly into AC but can't give me a price and what airline they partner with but it has to be one of the 2 that are there not to hard to figure out. OK I figure lets do the easy ones first so I compare Philly and Newark prices and Philly is about $70 cheaper. But here is the part that makes no sense. If I go out of Philly they will fly me to Newark and I have to change planes at Newark for a straight through flight from Newark to Detroit. And coming home I would have to go to Newark and change to a plane that goes to Philly. So I ask,Can I just book it from Philly and drive to Newark(Instead of flying) and save myself a lot of travel time and aggravation and they say NO! They would cancel my whole flight if I don't take the first leg of the flight. I said you can sell that leg of my flight to someone else and they say NO. But it gets better. If I book through Newark instead of the Philly ticket for the flight to Detroit, that is a different flight not a straight through and I have to change in Orlando! Both ways! I said "it costs you more to fly me from Philly to Newark and then Detroit,but you will charge me less than if I drive to Newark myself want to take a flight to Detroit from there." YEP. and I still can't take a direct flight even if I pay the $70 more from Newark. I can't just take the flight I would if I came from Philly.I would have to take a different flight that goes to Orlando . She said "that's right!"I swear they are doing this to piss me off! PLEASE can't they have someone make some sense out of all this.Its just STUPID!!!!

Keep it simple, just book a flight to Heathrow Airport, London and I will take care of the rest.......

Then I have to figure out how to get Kam and I on the same flight when we are coming from 2 different states. We have to get to a hub and meet up. Now you really messed me up.lmao

All great ideas. Just one problem. I am trying to get to Kam! I am really starting to think the airlines do this to see how much they can fuck with us before we snap. Its a test. They have a pool going.If it takes three flights Joe wins If its five flights its Pam . I just know it!

If you drive, it's just one straight shot. Besides, there's no security checks. That is, unless the person you might be driving with is expanding their third-base expertise. In that case, let them, because it's just plain fun on the boring roadways anyway...

3rd base while driving is tricky. The way the seats are set up causes some uncomfortable angles. What ever happened to front bench seats?

I got lucky with our tickets to BWI. But get this, I wanted to fly out on Sunday. For that to happen, I had to change planes in one of 3 different cities. Atlanta, Detroit, or Cincinnati. I could have flown direct, if i wanted to board the plane at 0615 or late afternoon. So I looked at flying out a day earlier. Low and behold, direct flights on Saturday, late morning departure, at a cost savings of about $100 per ticket. Go Figure.

I just checked on prices for my tickets. Of course the price has risen by around $75 per ticket. I paid $450 for both of us, rnd trip. Now it would cost $600. For both of us round trip.
