Snuck that one in there huh? Think you'll be getting more (at least view's) response to this string? And, (as in another string) is this one of those time's you were talking about, you won't be nude? . Thank goodness I live in Tucson, I'll be out shoveling sky high sunshine. Gloat, gloat. . Will I be dressed for that chore? Stay warm Chazz lady.

Gloat if ya want, I love my winters! I like gettin' all bundled up, and spending time outside especially in the snow, coming in to hot coffee and a warm fire.

Re: Hell yeah, I can handle 8 inches
I used to hate the snow as I do have some problems moving about in those conditions. However this year some of fantastic American Friends recommended a set of overshoe grip things and when the snow hit I was still able to move about normally up and down the hills on which I live.
So now apart from worrying about my partner having to get to work I like it a lot lot more

Bracing for the midwest ice storm....Missouri has already been declared a disaster area before the storm even hit.
Power lines are falling, the worst will hit tomorrow.
Might lose power for a few days.

Ya, what's up with thir global warming? Good breeze, temp drop, dark clouds, and rained pretty fair. In Tucsoo? Well, this will never do. I'm going to call the Governers office, and have her put a stop to this insanity, before it becomes a crisis situation.

Re: Hell yeah, I can handle 8 inches
This storm is going to hit a good portion the country. I know it is so big it is supposed to start snowing here tomorrow and we aren't even close to where the worst is for a day or two. We have been hit harder than ever in this part of NJ and the local government is just desperate because they have no idea what to do. The kids haven't had a full week of school without some either delayed opening or early dismissal or a snow day in so Long I thought it was since Christmas then my daughter reminded me it was really since Thanksgiving. The kids are sick of it already because they can't get their Mid-terms finished. This one is supposed to be a lot of ice and then snow.(depending on what channel I watch) Those are the dangerous storms. Ice is always bad. I have 2 trees that I keep watching and hoping don't come down or I will be moving out of here.I hope everyone has an emergency kit ready in case they lose power.Stay safe.

Re: Hell yeah, I can handle 8 inches
My heart truly goe's out to you all. I am very fortunate to be in Tucson, where the worst we have to put up with is the heat of summer, and as an old desert rat, it's really common sense to beat 100 plus temps. Hope all do well in the north, and make it through unharmed.

Re: Hell yeah, I can handle 8 inches
This morning they seem to think this part of the state should get a break as far as the amount of snow. But the ice is bad. I hate the kids having to be on the school buses and my sons driving. But if I kept them home every time they predicted bad weather they would never go to school this year. Just hoping the forecasts are wrong. If we get an inch of ice most of this area will be out of commission. REMINDER LEAVE YOUR WATER AT LEAST DRIPPING SO THEY MIGHT NOT FREEZE.

lol I just read what I wrote and realized I left out the word PIPES. Leave your water dripping from your pipes so they don't freeze. That's what I get for typing on my cell phone with no sleep.

Re: Hell yeah, I can handle 8 inches
Good thinking about the pipes Newbs. I have left my faucets at the shop dripping for weeks. However, I never thought about the sprinkler system. Last week, the day before my surgery, I opened the front door to not only see that it had burst at the main, but the water was shooting out as hard as seeing a fire hydrant blasting. The water gushed out the front door. I had to call the Water Authority to have it shut off at the curb. I killed the main electricity coming into the building for safety reasons, but that also shut the lights and furnace. And by this time, it was starting to get dark and my surgery was the next morning at 8. I was so aggravated and disgusted that I just said "Fuck it. Let it freeze". I packed up all my guitars, amps and printers and left. Fortunately, nothing happened to any of them.
Bottom line: Take Newbs' advice

Re: Hell yeah, I can handle 8 inches
Your the third person that has told me about broken pipes in 2 days. At my brothers house the pipes froze and there are 5 people living there. I figure the water has to be being used every 1/2 or so with the three kids and yet the pipes still froze.
Kam has a blizzard warning in his area. I saw that and was shocked. They don't get that kind of snow where he is. Fortunately he can walk to work if he has to. But everyone is getting slammed. They said just this one storm will effect 1/3 of this country. We already have 2 more storms in our forecast. Its insane.
I can't believe these trees haven't come down they are not looking good. I had someone look at them and he said they are stronger than I think. I hope he is right.

Another Nor'easter on the way!...lol Locals here think it's payback for a couple years ago. 09 we hadn't gotten any snow and most people hadn't packed away all of their shorts and summer clothes yet. Since January, we've had nearly 4 feet of the stuff with another 3 feet on the way tomorrow...OMG! it's snowing out right now!...Wait this is the 5 inch dusting we are suppose to get before the actual snow storm comes...whew!...

So Kam and I are bracing for what their saying will probably be in the top 5 strongest winter storms in recordable Michigan history. Awesome. 12-16 inches by 7pm tomorrow with 40-50mph constant wind. This is the first time i've gone under an actual "severe blizzard warning" in my lifetime. drifts forecasted to exceed 24 inches.

Re: Hell yeah, I can handle 8 inches
Well, for a change, this one kinda missed us. Only about an inch over night and now theyre calling for maybe another 3-4 inches today. Thats chicken shit compared to the 18 inches they said we were supposed to get. We did get a little bit of icing, but even that wasnt too bad. Fortunately, that Pennsylvania Rodent didnt see his shadow, only the 16th time in 125 years of doing that. Lets hope that Spring is really right around the corner!

OOMG How the hell do you live there? I bet you all have a bus load of kids. You must have to do something to keep warm there.
Free we got off much easier than expected too. Although there were some really bad accidents last light and this morning. I have one son stranded about an hour north of me. They didn't get spared. He said he hopes to get home today or tomorrow.
Good thing that rodent said early spring I seem to remember you saying what you were going to do if he didn't. lol

See now if I was there, I would be there to warm you up when you came home from that long walk back. I can think of a few ways to melt the ice off of you.
I just want to know what the hell pissed off Mother nature so much that she is just fucking with everybody this winter. Australia just got slammed with a cyclone. My mom called last night and said it was 18 degrees in Surprise Arizona!Last year I was there at this time and it was 80 and I was wearing a bathing suit and sitting at the pool!
