New Year's Traditions?
I never grew up with any New Year's tradition, and it wasn't until I was in my twenty's I heard of eating greens New Year's Day. This year, I've heard of a few more.
There are black eyed peas and collard greens! The black eyed peas and greens are Southern tradition for good luck and money. You're supposed to eat them on New Years Day. Hispanic custom is to eat 12 grapes at midnight and carry a suitcase around the house for luck and travel in the new year. My friend's Candian mother, runs around the house with an open can of sauerkraut. And,egg rolls are supposed to represent gold bars.
What are your traditions?

Re: New Year's Traditions?
Change the batteries in the smoke alarms and CO2 detectors. Never eat a regular meal only all our favorite cocktail foods and sparkling cider with my kids. OK this year it all changed. My youngest is now 15 and for the first time was going to be with friends as my older ones have been doing for several years so I spent it with Kam. We all had a great New Years eve, but it was strange not being with any of my kids. We did all call and text our friends and family depending on where they were and if they or we are able to talk. It's strange when your kids grow up and you find your last one gets to a stage that now your life is changing again. But its all good.
