Magic in the air
I love this Christmas. My family has begun a gesture Christmas instead of buying gifts. when it snowed like crazy I shoveled for them all and things like that to generate the true feeling of Christmas...it sbeen great so far ....just wanted to share since so many are sick of the commercialization i figured a few might be able to relate and share.

That's the best gift a person can give. Something that's helps another.  I'm impresed.

Honestly, I get so sick of certain people not understanding the true meaning of Christmas. Seriously folks, if we all have so much that we have to really think and think of what to buy someone? Not gonna do it!
My niece has 200 stuffed animals. A whole fucking room, just for her stuffed animals..... Please!!!!!
I don't mind buying her a book, or a speical piece of jewelry, however, my favorite gift to give is a card. A simple card, letting them know I am donating money, on their behalf, which will feed a family, or give a toy, to someone who otherwise... would go without.
That is without FOLKS!!! Possibly without FOOD, HEAT... etc.

My company put together a couple grand and donated to 'toys for tots' this year, our battle cry for the month was "for the Tots!" instead of the normal "Kill" lol.

A friend of mine came up with the perfect name years ago for what we were trying to explain to our kids about how we did Christmas/Chanukah and even birthday's. "Gift's of time". She has all the money she and her family could ever use and some. It's not like she can't afford to buy things so she was explaining how we always loved each others gifts to each other. I always made something for her or did something for her whether it be her birthday or the holiday season or even when her kids were born. She aways did similar or would send me something little just to let me know she was thinking about me . An few examples:For her birthday one year (I think her 13th or 14th birthday) I made her birthday cake and made sure it was her favorite flavor and decorated with things relating to her.Not just a generic birthday cake. She is also a huge collector of Santa's and she takes pictures all the time.So for Christmas one year I made her a Photo album with a Christmas theme and Had a Picture of her favorite full size Santa in a mink coat that her husband had gotten her one year in the frame on the cover.Another year I made a slay made out of cookie (Like gingerbread but used a sugar cookie instead because she likes it better) with reindeer. I baked it put it together, decorated it and filled it with more cookies and candies.Beside having fun doing these things we remember them. They also are much more personal. It doesn't matter if you have no money or all the money in the world you can do these things.You would be amazed that you find most people like home made things better.I love it so much that I start looking for ideas in the summer so I have time to get all the projects done.Isn't nice when you know someone put that much thought into what you would like instead of just buying that sweater that you will never wear with the reindeer on it?
