Careful up on that roof, Ashcat!
You hanging the holiday lights today? I decorated pretty simply, like I do every year, no lights, just evergreens, red bows and angel statues, very classic and old fashioned.
Who else decks out their place during the holidays? NRG I know usually really goes all out...very pretty!

Given NRG's recent list of catastrophies, he may not want to climb any ladders.

When I use to decorate, I'd throw out the lights every year. That's the ones with the little bulbs. Not worth my time trying to put 'em back in the package and ya know how well they straighten out if ya don't put 'em in the package again. For the cost, it's easier and a lot less stress to replace.

Re: Careful up on that roof, Ashcat!
A few years ago I found a great gadget. Its shapped like a gun and if u have a bulb out on a strand so the whole strand doesn't work u Just unplug any bulb put the tip of it in where the bulb goes and it FIXES it somehow. I don't know why it works but it does. Its $10 or $15 dollars but well worth it. They sell at Walmart and target. THE BEST THING EVER INVENTED BESIDES CHOCOLATE.

Re: Careful up on that roof, Ashcat!
Those little bulbs don't have much for a contact area. They are a apin to change because of that. I'm sure that gadget straightens the place where those bulbs go.
Is a neat idea though.

Re: Careful up on that roof, Ashcat!
The reason I don't get it is because you don't have to plug it into where the broken bulb is. You plug it into anywhere on the strand. How ever it works I'm just glad it does and hope it helps you.

Re: Careful up on that roof, Ashcat!
i used to use a 9 volt battery (the square ones) to test my lights. just touch the wires to the terminals on the battery.

Re: Careful up on that roof, Ashcat!
You're all crazy get this gadget and pull the trigger and you wont have to do all that or Do what I always did before. Throw them out when they drove me crazy . I hate that tangled mess and one bad bulb thing and as soon as you fix one another falls out or goes lose and you have to start over. NO WAY! Then people wonder why so many people are cranky this time of year. It's from fighting with the lights. Ok and the idiots at the store who think shopping is fun and are determined to make me take longer at doing mine. I hate shopping so no I don't want to talk to you and discuss the holiday decorations. Just let me out of the store!
