Re: sleepless nights
I have a lot of sleepless nights. I found two things that work to help me sleep. A lot of sex or AmbienCR. I prefer the sex. Ambien has the strangest side effects.Sex just relaxes me and it works better than AmbienCR or any other sleep aid I have tried. I think my doctor should write a script so I can charge the airline tickets to my insurance so I can go to Kam or he can come here more often, I need to sleep!

Re: sleepless nights
It is aggravating as well as unhealthy. I've had times when I didn't sleep, just napped. I'd lay down and sleep for 15 min, or an hour, or two hours, than be up.
I long for the days when I would lay my head on the pillow and go off to blissful slumber. No negative thoughts, no being tensed up into a ball. Just out!

Re: sleepless nights
I use a sort of self hypnosis method, learned very very early on while I was a tiny child in a house of turmoil...
Currently, I use the TV, I find a narrated show or documentary (a two hour show is great) I set the timer on the TV so it'll shut off on it's own, I turn the volume down low enough that I have to lay very still and really focus to hear the narration. I like shows like "The Universe" or "Ancient Aliens"....focusing on a voice talking about far, far away places and all that...puts me out.

Re: sleepless nights
I do qualify for the free audio books and player, with the cataracts, you guys might too.
I have thought about the audio books at bedtime, I think it would put me to sleep like the TV does.
I get this herbal stuff from Walgreen's, Sleep-Max...it's a blend of melatonin, Valerian root, passion flower and chamomile. I just take one once in awhile.

Re: sleepless nights
Sleep-Max is pretty mellow, and pretty cheap too. I think we pay a little over 5 bucks for a bottle of 25 or 30.
Sound machines are pretty cool too.
