Easter has some, Halloween kind of has some, Christmas definately has some. Why isn't there Thanksgiving music?

Re: Holiday Music
I hope I've understood the thought behind this forum post. Thanksgiving, traditionally we date back here in the U.S. as a time when Pilgrims who traveled here to escape religious persecution in England, survived pretty hardship times and through help from the native Americans were able to plant and harvest crops providing for themselves and their families. So origination of Thanksgiving songs or songs we associate in giving thanks and having gratitude for the divine care of a Supreme deity have been introduced as songs of worship. Thus many who look for only "secular" songs of Thanksgiving might not find those songs/hymns many associate with the season of Thanksgiving. Here's a list I found on just googling Thanksgiving songs:
(I'm sure this isn't a complete list)
O God, Beneath Thy Guiding Hand
Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
Count Your Blessings
Creation's Lord, We Give Thee Thanks
Faith Of Our Fathers
For The Beauty Of The Earth
Give Thanks To God The Lord
Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah
I'm A Pilgrim
Lone Pilgrim
Now Yield We Thanks And Praise
O Lord, Our Father, Thanks To Thee
Ten Thousand Thanks To Jesus
Thanks To God
Lord Jesus, We Give Thanks To Thee
To Thee, O God, We Render Thanks
Now Thank We All Our God |
We Gather Together

Re: Holiday Music
I didn't google the songs to see if I could hear them, or view the lyrics. However, looking at the titles I see, God, Faith, and the Lord Jesus. I'm not sure which radio station would be the correct venue to play these songs. Just a thought.

OOMG, as you know, not all Christmas songs are religous. There is a wide variety regarding Santa's, reindeers, Grandma's, and Jingle Bells. Again, not ever hearing these Thanksgiving songs, makes it more difficult to justify.

Re: Holiday Music
Another reason, is Christmas is so much more commercialized, and a money maker, which is pushed down our throats!

They play them, but we're usually too tired from the turkey's natural sleeping drug to hear them...
