Life in a small town
Geez...I was 40 miles away from home the other day, and ended up in a waiting room with an ex-boyfriend.
Always freaks out the hubs a bit, a local delivery guy that stops by a couple times a year, yeah, we dated.
I love the rural small town life, but really don't like running into ex's. Freaks out the hubs a bit when he's faced with the reality that guys I dated still live in the area.

---or guys ya dated are still living.
I like a smaller town. Lived in bigger cities and liked the availability of services. Prefer and get along better in a town of about 20,000 or so. Many services and still small enough.

Re: Life in a small town
I go to see an Ex of mine, and every time he is shacking up with someone new. And, every time I show up... they disappear?!?!?
I've never heard him complain though.

Re: Life in a small town
Being that I'm still friends with everyone I ever dated except one that was a stalker and my ex-husband who was worse, I really don't see the problem. I always look at it as the person I'm with knows I obviously have chosen to be with him so there shouldn't be an issue. I'm not a jealous person and for the most part don't like men that are jealous either.I guess its just a matter of personalities. If the guy I'm with couldn't deal with me hanging out with old boyfriends then we shouldn't be together.I trust the man I'm with and would expect the same in return. If I find the man breaks that trust or wants to be with someone else, we would be done. I don't want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with me.I wont wast time worrying about something that may never happen.

Re: Life in a small town
Hubs was raised a city boy, so allot of what's common out here, kinda freaks him out sometimes. I've "hillbillyized" him quite allot since we've married.

Re: Life in a small town
One of my ex's likes to play games with my dates. She waits until I go to the bathroom. Then she approaches the woman, and proceeds to tell her that we are married and that we have three little ones at home waiting for us. Those kids are hers from a previous marriage and they are now in their late twenties, but she keeps their baby pictures for just such an occasion. If I see her there, I turn right around and make some sort of excuse to have to leave. Dating is hard enough, without her antics...

Re: Life in a small town
I'm from a small town, I grew up that way. Never had any issues with an ex. I live in a city now and have mixed emotions. It's a love/hate relationship where I live. I'm just very lonely and wanting sex all the time too. After 20 years of marriage starting over has exciting possibilities but I'm finding it difficult to be patient! Sorry, just making friends will help. Hey! I gotta good hand! WOOHOO!:D
