Working Class
You'll see a lot in my words about being a being patriotic, regardless of your political views or the country you live in.
We're in every city.
We're in every state.
Hard workin Americans
That make this country great.
We aint no politicians,
Dont wear no fancy suits.
We do it all in pick up trucks
In blue jeans and work boots
Chorus:
So raise a glass to the workin class
Yeah we know how to kick some ass
Yeah we know how to get the job done
Yeah raise a glass to the workin class
Drink it slow or drink it fast
Don't matter cuz I'm buyin the next one
We build all the skyscrapers,
We build your trucks and cars
We serve you food in diners and
Work doubles in ER's
We truck your food cross country,
We work the farms and fields
We risk our lives to pull out all
The coal that that mine yields
Bridge:
Some of us put out fires
And some patrol the streets
And some of us wear the Uniform
And protect out Great Country!
And another thing - We speak English
We're not changing that for you
And we only ever fly ONE flag
The Red White and Blue!
We clean up after Hurricanes.
We fish the open seas
We build bridges and airports
Aand we work in factories
We pave the roads you drive on.
Build homes and shopping malls
From sun up till sundown.
Summer, Winter Spring and Fall

Re: Working Class
This song reminds me of an 80's song by Jimmy Barnes, an Aussie rock singer.
Not only the title but the metre in the verses is similar to yours.
It's called 'Working Class Man'
Working hard to make a living
bringing shelter from the rain
a father's son left to carry on
blue denim in his vein
oh oh oh he's a working class man
Well he's a steel town disciple
he's a legend of his kind
he's running like a cyclone
across the wild mid western sky
oh oh oh he's a working class man
He believes in God and Elvis
he gets out when he can
he did his time in Vietnam
still mad at Uncle Sam
he's a simple man
with a heart of gold
in a complicated land
oh he's a working class man
Well he loves a little woman
someday he'll make his wife
saving all the overtime
for the one love of his life
he ain't worried about tomorrow
cause he just made up his mind
life's too short for burning bridges
take it one day at a time
oh oh oh he's a working class man
oh oh oh he's a working class man
oh yeah
yes he is
well he's a working class man
oh
ma ma . . . . . . . i tell you he's a working class man
..and the rest is just scatting vocals over a jam til the end.

Thought you might be interested in this fact, from comments posted relating to 'Working Class Man".
"A true Aussie classic, and when sung by Jimmy, it's almost a religious experience. Adopted as an Aussie blue-collar anthem.
Written by an American, Jonathan Cain, keyboardist with Journey."
Remember Journey?

LOL NO Journey didn't! Well actually, good question, I don't know! Back to Google??
The rest of the comment that I didn't post wondered if Cain even knew what an 'Aussie Battler' was! What that means is that he didnt have an Australian blue collar worker in mind. Nevertheless, the working class man is universal.
Cold Chisel (look for them too) was the band Barnes was with. Great songs, great words. Ian Moss (also a member) went solo with a few good albums, after CC broke up, as did Barnes, hence this song (recorded in the US I think).
Lots of great original Aussie music out there that misses the mainstream.
I could even see Barnesy singing your song!
