Are you an Organ donor?
If you have a strong spiritual or religious view against it. We respect that, but we won't argue about it, okay?
Newbie mentioned in the blood donor thread that she is,(Yah!!) I am too.
I'm sure allot of us may have a strong connection to the organ donation programs. I know people who have recieved organs, my family feels absolutely blessed to welcome into our family, the man who recieved one of my brother's organs. We often attend events and set up a booth of organ donation information. The people we meet are fantastic, so many inspirational stories are shared.
Maybe some of you have recieved an organ? It can be a long recovery, I'm amazed at the stamina and determination some of these people have, I can't imagine the recovery pain and time involved with a double lung and heart transplant.

Yes, when my Brother passed, he was only 18 yrs.. His organs were donated. My mother read the letter stating another young man received his retina's and if there was more, I really don't remember it now. It was a very pain full moment, but I know my mom felt blessed that at a time of her loss, there was someone who lived and benefited from the son she loved so much.

It is comforting, to not only know your loved ones wishes were fullfilled, but that a piece of them lives on, we got the complete list of where the organs went. Family men, with children, that's comforting.
Some of my family went for grief counseling, and were asked if they resented the fact that the organ recipients lived, while the one we loved died. None of us ever felt any resentment for even a moment.

Absolutely.
Life Insurance is great for your family, but the chance to maybe save more than one life, that is real life insurance.

I really wish I could be, but I can't donate or give blood. Everyone in my family who can do so are all registered for both though
