Live Room
I don't understand why people aren't using the Red room on this side. There's hardly ever anyone in it.

Depends on the time of day, the day of the week, etc...I've seen a dozen or more at a time in there.
We are working a few simple things here, to make the chatrooms more appealing.

Things you can do to improve your Red Room experience.
Treat women respectfully, even if they are there for dirty slutty stuff, treat them respectfully. 
Don't over rely on private messages, women like to mingle in the public area. Don't get caught up expecting cybersex from a woman just because she is hanging in the cybersex room, it's her decision as to where she would like to turn her attention, and whether or not she wants to do that privately, or in the room.

Quite a lot of the women..and men on here hang out in the Lobby for all sorts of reasons. Some just to chat with friends and catch up, but I have found that it gives you a chance to actually chat first to potential playmates and see if you have a connection with them before taking it any further. Since sometimes the ladies need to find someone that appeals to the mind before the body can follow it is a easier way of meeting people.
So maybe try meeting some friends first who would then go on to play further in the room with the red light on?

That's all well and good, but I've been in the Red Room a few times..and noone was chatting publicly. So, to get some attention, I was making a few flirty lines in public, after which I was told by a woman there to just jump in to a priv message with anyone you fancy.
So what do you do? It's hard to read women at the best of times, let alone knowing what's expected from men in a room like the Red room.
If you do show respect, don't 'jump them' then you risk missing out entirely or leap into a pm and be told your being disrespectful.
Some women DO like an opening provocative cheeky line, often a very dirty first PM, while others definitely do not!
oh and Wandering5tar,,,your 'ear worm' a song stuck in the head might make a good thread on its own.

Yes, some women do, longtack...and we're happy about that, we truly are!
You did the right thing, first trying the room, then private instant messages.
The main complaint from the chatrooms are from women who don't like to be pounded and bombarded with persistant instant private messages, especially after already saying no, not interested, or... not now I'm busy. That kind of behaviour is abuse of the chatrooms, and not welcomed, and will get a guy ignored, blocked, and possibly deleted.
Whether it's the public area or by private instant message, a little respect is expected.

we get a lot of that too being a couple and the wife has her own handle for here. it just amazes me that some one come on chat and the first thing they do coming in is hit the Private chat button and yank my cursor off what i might bee doing , its sure to get a ignore and their first question is am i female.?.....

The only problem I run into in the "Red Room" is that as soon as I get in there I am immediately bombarded with private message requests. 5 or 6 windows will start popping up on the screen. Now I'm left with three choices. I can ignore ALL of them and appear to be a stuck up bitch, or I can engage in a chat with one of them and leave the other 5 thinking I am a stuck up bitch, or the last (and worse!) option is to answer ALL of them and go crazy trying to manage 6 different conversations at the same time!
I know I have the option to turn off private messages, but I hate shutting EVERYBODY out. So to end my dilemma I just avoid the chat rooms. I wish there were a more effective way to manage them. It would be nice if there were a way that once you start a private message session with one person any additional private message requests would get a message that I am busy and unable to respond at this time. Then it wouldn't seem like I am purposely ignoring them.
That's my two cents worth! Just part of my "wish list"!

Yeah, that would be great if there were a feature for chosing which members you want private messages from.
It is a pain right now, like ashcat said, you try to type and a pop up instant message knocks you out of the text box. That's a real problem for me sometimes, I just wanna go in and just wanna kick out a camgirl.
Right now, we are a bit limited, the chatroom software is a third party thing and not owned by the site, so only so much unf can do with it.

I understand completely, Chazzy. I certainly don't hold you responsible! I totally understand the "third party" situation you work under. You didn't write the software!
But that's why I stay away from the chat rooms. It's very hard to type when window after window after window keep popping up on the screen!
I guess there isn't really a practical solution. Maybe the only answer is to educate chat users to understand that if someone doesn't respond to their private message request it might be because they are busy and not because they are ignoring you!

The enter chat page has been re-written to focus on that, it just hasn't been changed yet.
I haven't been able to spend time just chatting in a long time, but I usually turn off the instant messaging because I use the Lobby and I want to chat with the whole room. After awhile sometimes I do turn it back on, if I want to exchange a few private messages.
All we can do right now, is choose to turn it off or on. If left on, we just have to ignore the ones we don't want to, or have time to talk to privately, put any jerkwads that can't take no for an answer on ignore.
Maybe, hopefully...someday...the chatrooms will be upgraded and/or updated and we'll have some way to deal with the top complaint.

I still find most who PM me will ask if I am busy. Well, first they ask if I remember them. Most take the hint and move on when I say I am busy. I guess I feel a little guilty.
Again, most are very nice and move on.

Being a guy, I don't have it quite so bad. But most of the time I'm not a fan of pm. I'll play when I'm in the red room, but most of the time only in open chat. I generally have other things going on when I'm in chat. Checking my fantasy sports leagues, trying to write, talking to newbie, etc. you can cut down the pm thing by answering them in the main room and tell them you don't pm. You play in open spaces, only. Which is GREAT for me 'cause I like to watch.

Just a tip for those who don't want to turn off the pm totally. I mute the sound first! Then as the PMs come in I drag those I don't want to the side of the main window then minimize them. Then each time they pm you it will just blink in the tool bar but wont keep popping up in front of you and make that annoying sound. BUT remember to keep the ones you want on your screen don't minimize and check them on occasion to make sure your not ignoring your friends.Hope this helps.
