LTCG = Larry The Cable Guy; part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour group of comedians, including Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall. Larry The Cable Guy is portrayed by actor, Daniel Lawrence Whitney. Hopefully that will "Git-R-Done" for you. in better understanding U.S. Comedy BTW .. "Git-R-Done" is one of LTCG'S catch phrases.

Thank you, thank you, as I have never seen that show.
Unlike many other US 'comedy' shows.
Not even sure if it made it to Australia..gawd..let alone China!
It's true, we learn something new every day.
It's even an acronym now?
Popular culture just took another giant leap forward for humankind.

I hope you had it inspected by a qualified mechanic before you decided to drive it. You dont want it breaking down, especially in those dark tunnels.

People in cars
Actually not much. It's more of matter of watching so I can avoid someone before they realize what they're gonna do. Like-- people on cell phones.
Some of the scenery is great though. Get to over the railings on bridges and such so I get to see more. I learned today that Oxford,OH has a very large college. Never would have guessed that.

Taps foot. STILL waiting for some questions.
I do get to see lots of stuff though.. There's a building in northern WV that part of it looks like an upsidedown telescope. When the leaves have fallen ya get to look thru the trees and see what's on the other side. There's a building on Manhatten that from one side looks like a Thermos bottle. Get good views of rivers and such too.

Yes, they are and should know how to read as well. Over passes have to be marked with the height IF they are less than 14' high. Some over 14' are marked anyways. This is why so many roads don't have the road under overpasses repaved. The height of the usual semi is 13'6"
There's no reason for a truck to get stuck under that overpass. It's more than adequately marked.

Re: JCSOS Thread
i saw that happen just the other day. (i saw this chick i know, she was following a Semi, about 5 feet behind him. if he'd have hit the breaks, she'd have been toast. she was driving a little Neon) the truck changed lanes, to pass another vehicle. My mom was in the car with me said, "that trucker must have gotten tired of her riding his tail. that's why he changed lanes." i turned to her and said..."i don't think so, he probably didn't even know she was there until he got in the other lane!"

Re: JCSOS Thread
I don't seem to have that problem much now. It does still happen. My favorite ones are those that can drive 20 mph over the limit but won't pass me. lol What irritates m e is the other truck that do it. I'm usully not nice to them.
This "drafting" is not only the stopping distance but stuff breaks on trucks and trailers all the time. Not to mention the amount of sand and other stuff they pick up is not good. If a recap falls apart, it can go thru your windshield and kill the occupants. If ya hit one, your car [or suv] will go under or mostly under the trailer.
I use to get those that would hold thier hand out showing 5 fingers. This was suppose to mean that i should stay 500 ft behind them. Some I pass and they tailgate. So, when I get the chance, I show them the same sign. No, it doesn't allways work.

Well, I mentioned about the shoelaces for Sara Lee. I had a load of dog aspirin too. I asked the shipper what the difference between people aspirin and dog aspirin and was told the dog stuff has a liver flavor. I was surprized the dog aspirin was 300 mg.

While driving thru GA, i discovered that in Columbus, GA they have a "Civil War Naval museum". I was surprized about this. Columbus in about 100 miles south west of Atlanta on the AL border.
All of the naval history from that time has been off the CArolina coasts.
Added it to my llist of "to do"

Re: JCSOS Thread
If you ever hit New Market, Va. there is The Battle of New Market Reenactment. It is a unique historical experience taking place on the original 1864 battlefield.
On May 15, 1864, the historically significant Battle of New Market took place in which teenage cadets of Virginia Military Institute (VMI) were pressed into service by Confederate General John Breckinridge in a successful effort to delay the North's march on Richmond, Virginia.
The house on the property was left standing because the residents aided and assisted both sides, the North, and South. The house belonged to my relatives, the Bushongs. I was really amazed at the size of the house, and it is a nice tour and day excursion.

Turns out the place was named after Giovanni Ceva.
He was a mathematician who belived in the strength of a triangle.
I also found out this company's logo is maroon because it signifies passion.

In my neck of the woods this practice can be down right dangerous, especially this time of year. A case in point. A driver of a nissan was traveling behind a tractor trailer on 95. He was waiting for traffic to clear on either side of the rig before attempting a pass. As traffic opened up on the right he faded that way only to end up in the hospital. A huge 6 inch thick chunk of ice came loose off the top of the trailer, crashing down on the hood of the guys car and smashing him in the face after piercing the windshield. He's expected to make it, but the driver of the tractor either didn't know about what happened or didn't care and left the scene. They were still looking for him today, I heard... Makes you think twice about following a tractor-trailer around here anyways.

Glad the car driver will be ok. This happens many places in winter. Ice and snow get built up on the top of trailers. Between the wind and melting it has to go somewhere. The truck driver most likely never knew this happened. Frankly, it can be the same with recap tires in summer.

I always wanted to know mire about those (we call them RETREADS)tires. I know there have been numerous stories about people being seriously hurt and even killed.I know there has been a lot of people saying they want to get a law passed to outlaw them. It sounds like even truckers realize they are extremely dangerous. I would love to know a truckers take on the issue.Maybe there is a way to make them safer?

There is one place that makes 'em a bit different. Instead of useing a cap that ends join in the tread area, they somehow make it one complete circle. No, I have no idea how they do that.
I tried caps on my other truck and had nothing but problems with 'em. I only run new tires. I found I don't really save anything by using caps.
