One for the record Books
Sorry I havent been online.. I've had some bad luck a few weeks ago.Had a goose hit me in the starboard engine & started a fire, then we had a electrical storm hit a transformer & knocked it down starting my garage on fire, then 4 days later i had 2 deer run right in front of me, 6 miles outta town, first thing in the morn, so i been busy rebuilding my garage.

But about a month ago i started a practical joke that should go down in the record books. One of my fellow pilots has this stuffed crow (A high school science project) he named FRED. He always had it sittin on a lil water fountain on his patio. One nite I snuck over & took his crow. At first he just thought some punk kids stole it. He briefly mentioned it next morning at work about how some kids must have stole Fred, a bird hes had for 27 years. So he seemed sure some hoodlums had taken it.... till Fred started sending him post cards. See, I started taking Fred with me, everywhere I went. I'd take a photo of Fred by some famous landmark I knew he would recognize & I'd have it made into a postcard, all of em saying, "HAVING A GREAT TIME,... WISH YOU COULD BE HERE... FRED" I had postcards of Fred in front of THE WHITEHOUSE... The St. Louis Arch, The golden Gate Bridge.. Niagra Falls...Old Faithful Geyser at Yellowstone... The Alamo... even had a couple of nude girls in the bahamas pose with Fred. over 40 postcards. I had poor Alan scratchin his head bald trying to figure out who was behind this sinister plot...lol Of course he asked me about it, as he did several other pilots, but i denied every word of it.... But it was really on his mind because it became the main topic each morning at work. He even called me a few times at home askin me if i had any idea who was doing this, he started naming some people he had known that might have some sort of grudge...lol Even when a few of us would go downtown to have a few beers & shoot some pool, the topic of Freds world traveling vacation would always come up. So to make it worse, i made up a bunch of flyers & put them on bulletins & store windows all over town "HAVE YOU SEEN FRED?? LONG TIME PET & FRIEND MISSING" I had Alan & Sherry's phone number on them, so the next thing, anytime someone saw a crow, of course they called Alan. This all went on for over 2 months. But last monday, Alan was looking for my flight reports & found Fred in my briefcase. So the gig is up.. But the whole airport is laughing about Freds world travels...lol I'm actually pretty proud of myself for this one. lmao

You should be proud! That is hilarious!

Everytime I see a crow, I'll think of Fred now.

Re: One for the record Books
lol that is incredibly funny.

And to think it went on for so long.
That's the record part I guess.
You'd have to check with the Guinness Book of Records people to see if there is a category for World's Longest Practical Joke,(or create one) and they would have to witness it, but you do have a lot of evidence.
Never mind maybe the WN Book of Records is enough glory!

Reminds me of the joke about the 2 guys who went to the Vatican. They look up and one says "hey who's that up there with Fred?"

I laughed when I read your story. Now I have a question for you. I had one of those antenna things for years on my car In this case it was a "Cactus guy" A rubber Cactus that had a cowboy hat and bandanna with Glasses. It was something I had for about twenty years. Anyway one day my son takes the car and it disappeared. We figured someone just got stupid and took it off. So I hunted for a new one. Only one place actually makes this thing. I was unable to get it because they stopped making it for a little while. I didn't think much of it until it showed back up stuffed in the door of the car. That was odd but again didn't think much about it. Then he went missing again. Now we knew someone was playing games. Well one night my son was home from school and I hear him laughing and he calls me into his room. He said mom look what someone sent me on facebook. There was a picture of the Cactus guy and a ransom note! I laughed so hard. We started seeing pictures of "Him" at different parties posted on facebook on various profiles. We still don't know who took him and I have since gotten a new one since they started making them again.

NOW I ask you. Are you holding Cactus guy for ransom?

Now, did you steal Fred before or after the fires and near misses?... You know, crows are a symbol of death in many sub-cultures and are considered taboo or bad luck in others. that might explain your new found karma blunders...

Good point GG388.

And is just thinking about the practical joke enough to set off the chain of karmic events?

So does that mean NRG4U is going to be reincarnated as a crow?

definitely, and waiting to be stuffed and used in practical jokes by a wild haired guy that will involve travel. That's karma AND deja vu.
