women in non-traditional jobs
Is it hot or not. Do you like to see a woman wearing a skirt and high heels or a tool belt and dirt? (Just wondering because if I get this job I want I'll be welding 50 hours a week.)

There is nothing wrong with women working in non-traditional jobs. We all weren't meant to stay "barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen".
I work construction and enjoy it----and I say" if you like it....do it"
Then later put on the skirt and heels!

there is one girl welder in the shop where I work.. she is only 10% as cute as you yet she comes off as hot when all dirty and welding etc. I've always maintained that a girl under a car hood is one of the hottest things ever.... it applies to most of the hands on type "male" work
just when I thought you couldn't get much more attractive!

I love skirts.
But really I dont mind what job she does, so long as she does it well.

I don't think there are many, if any non-traditional jobs for women anymore. About 12 years ago, technical schools and government programs started using allot of too-good-to-turn-down incentives to boost female enrollment in tecchnical training and schools in fields then considered "non traditional", like auto body, welding, heavy equipment operating, etc...
Good for us, eh?

I worked in construction for 6 years but I can honestly say that I never wore a skirt and heels  .... Blue jean shorts and a t-shirt was more my style.
Nothing wrong with women doing a man's job. I see it all the time down here.

I vote for blue jean shorts and a t-shirt! Is there such a think as mans work? Woman are liberated and can think for themself. So only you can say you can or can't do something. Welding is as much an art as a craft. Anyway you'll look sexy doing just about anything! 
P.S. Maybe the shorts and T arn't a good thing to be warin' while sparks are flyin!  Also check into the realated sickness associated to welding fumes.

Also extended welding can lead to retina burns, kinda like sunburn of the eyeball. Just things I've read but though you might like to know!

I got a tour of the plant today and it doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of just straight welding. Its an assembly line so there are other jobs that they rotate you to. There are quite a few women there and most of them are about my size or smaller. I'm thinking its prob the hours that will get me. 7:30 at night til 6:00 a.m. Yuck! But the pay is nice. It'll pay off my bills quick.

Like BCB said, a woman under the hood is very attractive . Under the hood with jean shorts and tshirt, Oh My God!  CG as a welder.... yeah baby! remember the movie Flashdance? Alex was a welder. You've definitely got it CG!

you're right Sir DEye.. that smudge would be on her upper cheek... any smudges to occur after seeing this image would probably not be of the darker tones.

Well they've decided not to teach me to weld just yet. 2007 as a matter of fact. So....for now you just have to imagine me sweaty, in work boots, and how did you know I wear my hair in a ponytail, and I do usually have a black smudge across my left cheek and up both my arms too.
Guy at work told me today to just stand there and look beautiful. Put almost all my parts on for me too. I'm considering doing him later. Such a nice guy .
Gosh its good to be a girl.

I put together the rear end of a car. Put calipers, roter, rear knuckle, etc. onto the sub-frame. Put together shocks, knuckles. Lots of grease and sweat and some bruises too. Especially since we don't have air conditioning. Just good ol' industrial fans.
