Fascination
Things that fascinate me....Vintage/antique photos, those Victorians were just crazy weird! Construction equipment, especially those really tall cranes that the doodes have to climb all the way up. Archeology, if it's old and filthy dirty, I love it. Bizarre creatures, like the huge Praying Mantis on my back deck yesterday, giant mammoth fish like they catch on those monster fish TV shows.....
What's the wide range of things that fascinate you?

Re: Fascination
all of the above plus trains and old glass , lake milles there is a excavation on going of what might of been a native village at one time and and some researchers think there is a pyramid in the the lake, the ones in azthland site is near by, lots of mound pyramids covering ten acres, i didn't spell the name right, but the neighboring tribes knocked them off, they might of had a taste for human flesh i read when we were there, and the burial mounds. then they were digging a foundation for a new house in antigo and dug up some remains and artifacts, they determined they were well over a 100 years old, the old farm was built one what was might of been a native burial ground.

Re: Fascination
Producing and directing...anything, commercials to movies.
I get so side tracked sometimes, wondering why they shot a scene from that angle, why certain people were cast in their roles, why the wardrobe was chosen and approved, etc...I totally lose track of the dialog and story sometimes.
I am fascinated by folk art, sculptures from rusty junk, paintings done on remnant lumber with left over house paint, art created by the completely untrained, and exists for no other reason than the person who creates it feel like they have something to express, and don't really care to impress.

Re: Fascination
Ok, I just got done recording with a buddy of mine. That new song I wrote, I told him that it needed a mandolin sound to it. Guess what? He came over and played mandolin. And he plays percussion. And keyboards. And Bass. And violin. And lead guitar. And then he wanted some different kinda sound, so he went and found an ashtray and a screwdiver, turned the ashtray upside down on a carpet and hit it with the screwdriver to get the sound he wanted. And guess what? When it was all together? it was unbelievable. He made something incredible out of that silly little song I wrote. What a friggin talent! Yeah, I was fascinated!

Re: Fascination
Some of my fascinations are ancient civilizations, particularly the Mayas.
The barbaric way mental patients use to be treated. I toured the Insane Asylum in Weston WV about 2 years ago, they sure did soft soap what really happened in that chamber of horrors. Many lobotomies were preformed there, and they had a basement for difficult patients.
Last but not least..airplanes, When I was a teenager (yes I was sad when all those dinosaur's died) I wanted to be a flight attendant....the old coffee, tea, or me?

Re: Fascination
Outer space. Is there other civilizations out there? With all of the millions of other galaxies out there, is there really another earth like planet?
Then of course there would be geology. Plate tech-tonics, volcanoes, etc....

Re: Fascination
That space stuff amazes me too...all that billion lightyears and hundred billion years ago, I can't really even begin to fathom how big our own tiny little galaxy is, but to think that it is just a tiny one in a whole bunch of infinity....such a big Wow.
