Best and Worst Sitcoms
I googled this a few weeks ago and was surprised at some of the findings in both categories. And there were a lot in there I had never even heard of. And not from that list, but there are some that get such rave reviews and I cant figure out why (The Office comes to mind). My choices are:

No disrespect but i have never seen an American Sitcom that I find funny...That said...(Not sure what catergory Nurse Jackie comes into).....Is Compulsive viewing!
I love that woman! 
Oh and yeah...The Office is just too stupid to laugh at.!

Some of the worst sitcoms (bad in my opinion) were launching pads for some great careers.
Mork and Mindy (Robin Williams)
Bosom Buddies (Tom Hanks)
Soap, I've seen some episodes, not bad, probably much better in it's own time (Billy Crystal)

I watch "The Office" sometimes...I get it, I like it alright. "Reno911" is the only show that makes me laugh out loud.

but thats like happy days too it was ok but now adays like fonzee has a swelled head...just like somecartoons like popeeye and i sit and think i use to watch this stuff?

Saw dear old Henry (and boy do I mean old!) in pantomime last year; he was terrible! Couldn't sing, couldn't dance, couldn't act - just stood there going "Hey" every 10 minutes.
Wait a minute - that was Happy Days wasn't it...

Don't know about the USA, but the comedy on BBC Radio 4 is top notch. The pictures are so much better on radio...

Although it sticks in my throat to say it, I think that Yanks have overtaken us in terms of comedy. IMHO Seinfeld & Frasier stand out as the best of their generation. On the flip side, the drive to fill airtime has produced more dross than can be listed here.
Personally, I find The Office very clever and cringe-making rather than LOL-funny. As with many such shows it is the interplay of the peripheral characters that give the show it's kick.
By far the worse show is Little Britain which has enough original material for one show but has stretched it into entire careers for 2 performers - got to admire their balls (be surprised if that doesn't become a new sketch for them). If it hasn't crossed the pond yet - AVOID IT.
